HI, My wife is currently living in china, she is holding Australia passport, she was born in china, she went to Melbourne for college when she was 20, and her company sent her back to work in china 5 years ago, (that was when i met her), i am petitioner ,me just confused which Embassy will be for her interview? please kindly advise!!

2013: Oct-09 send our i-130 petition

Oct-11-13 - NOA1

May-27-14 - NOA2 our I-130 was approved

My guess would be China if that is where she was born and is currently living. I am assuming she still also still holds a Chinese passport/citizenship?

Hmmm, that is a tricky one! I will be interested in the answer. I am unsure if they do it by local embassy or embassy of country of citizenship. Fingers crossed she won't have to travel to Sydney for interview, unless you can make a nice holiday out of it

.

I do have a question to others: Is the six months expiry date from IV issue date or POE date? My guess is the latter.

It is six months from the date of your medical exam. You MUST enter the US before this date (six months from medical).

So she currently holds an Australian passport, right? It will be interesting to see which embassy is assigned. You can change it, if you need to, though.

A very odd thing happened to me between about midnight and 2 am Eastern time (afternoon in Australia). I was checking my status via the CEAC site and the page changed!!! Instead of entering just the "type of visa" and "Case Number" - there was another box in between these that asked for the "Place". It's a huge drop-down menu of all the Embassies/Consulates!

I still got the "In Transit" message, so went away for an hour or two. Then I checked the status page again.

The "Location" drop-down menu was gone!!! Methinks they were messing with the site during the night!

Did anyone else happen to see this? You would have had to have been a US night-owl to have caught it...

Thank you Sukie for the response. I'm actually aware of that. My question relates to the IV-turned-temporary GC by a POE stamp. If, for example I wait until the last day of the IV validity before I enter the US, will I even have a valid temporary GC until the real thing arrives?

Well this day keeps getting better! I got a call from the Democratic Party inviting me to some campaign kick-off this Saturday. My do-nothing representative and senator will be there. You bet your tooshie I'll be there!!!

And I had to cut the conversation short to say goodnight to my husband because he's still not here and these DFL politicians contributed nothing. The guy on the phone said "I'm going through something similar! Can I speak with you more?" This could get interesting lol

"You can bet your tooshie":rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Sorry, MoBar - I misunderstood. I know the I-551 stamp in your passport is good for one year - but I don't know if the counter starts when the visa is placed in your passport, or if the counter starts at POE. I'm sure someone on this forum will know, though!
