You're sorely missed here Changnoi! Congrats and Live and Prosper :D:energy::lol:

This Visa Journey feels like a marathon and now I am standing at the finish line

Watching everyone I came to know during my journey complete the race.

INTERVIEW tip for ALL......One of the first things they asked my wife for

Was my 2013 Federal Tax Transcript. This is a MUST for everyone Even if you

Have a joint sponsor....it also has to show your correct marital status.

Just to be extra clear for everyone.

I had already sent NVC a copy of my 2013 Federal Tax Return with all schedules, W2s ect.

At the interview the Consular Officer additionally asked for the 2013 Federal Tax Transcript which is available online.

Ours only took two weeks to become available online after filing. Take everything they could possibly ask for to the interview. It is the moment of truth in this whole journey

Hi,

My accountant filed my tax return for 2013 as single because wife isn't in the U.S. and has no SS number and for ITIN number she had to be in the U.S. last 6 months per there rules.

But I hear from some on the forum that it shouldn't be an issue.

As it says in Saylins NVC Guide if you are married anywhere in the world you

Are married in the eyes of the IRS. You will have to amend your return and paper file MFS

and where the spouse SSN goes put NRA .... (None resident Alien ) The Alien spouse doesn't have to file anything.

This is one of the more popular reasons for getting a 221g and going into Administrative Processing

and having your Visa delayed and your loved one heart broken as they emerge from the interview

with no Visa.

The consular officer can also ask for a joint sponsor or more information regarding the AOS at interview. They also can ask for more re-establishment of domicile proof.

Of course all embassies and consulates have cameras. What on earth is the point of that comment?

Hello,

My interview will be in July 10 am in Montreal.

If I come in the consulate at 8:00am would they make me wait until 10 am or it is first come first serve?

Please email me any piece of advice about the interview.

Thank you for your information

Kind Regards

Lukiduki

I have question about I-864 on the first page:

1) Mailing address is mines?

2) Other Information, where it's asking Citizenship, DOB, and A-Number is that for me or Beneficiary. I'm a Citizen and do not have a A Number?

After page 1, do I have to fill out page with with family member 1, family member 2, etc. or just checking the first box on page 2 is enough where it says "I'm sponsoring the principal immigrant in part 2".

On page 1, part 1 is about the petitioner or sponsor. Part 2 says right on the page it's about the immigrant- and it starts at the bottom and carries onto the right side of the page. So the stuff on the right is part of Part 2/ immigrant information.

If you are only sponsoring the one immigrant, then just check the 'yes' box:)

Hello,

My interview will be in July 10 am in Montreal.

If I come in the consulate at 8:00am would they make me wait until 10 am or it is first come first serve?

Please email me any piece of advice about the interview.

Thank you for your information

Kind Regards

Lukiduki

Montreal is first come first serve. I showed up at 6:15am for my interview day. By 7am there was a line up of about 15 -20 people. I suggest going earlier than 8am. I was done by 9am and was second in line (C2).

Feel free to read the reviews here:
