NVC Filers - June 2014

(Im)patiently waiting for my checklist response to arrive at NVC. Paid for Express Courier International, but due to a public holiday here in Australia it didn't leave Australia until Tuesday 10th (US Monday 9th). It is now 5 days later and still not delivered. Marked today as "Attempted Delivery". Does NVC only accept mail (that needs to be signed for) Monday to Friday? I am not sure if anyone is physically there on Saturdays. Also weird, but probably just a typo, in the email notification about the parcel on Tuesday it said the delivery consisted of 1 article and now it is saying 5 articles. Lol. It's taking so long, my paperwork is having babies!

Fingers crossed they will deliver on Monday and NVC will find it in their hearts to scan it in sometime this year.

So, I am a skeptic about psychics and people that can "read your future" but some friends of mine had a party last night with a lady that reads tarot cards. I thought, why not? For a bit of fun. She not only told me information about our move that she couldn't have known, but she also "saw" that there had been a delay because of the paperwork and that the correction had been signed and sent back!

This is where the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up…..I didn't tell her anything about what part of the process I was in, she wouldn't be up to speed on NVC timelines or anything like that and she "saw" that we would get the all clear by August/September, which is when I would expect to be having the interview.

She also "saw" that we would still be here for Christmas and might not move until Dec/Jan. I am wondering if that means it will take us a while to sell our house…..Obviously I am taking this with a grain of salt, but she hit the nail on the head for a lot of other things in my life that she wouldn't have had any prior knowledge about, including the fact I have 3 kids. She saw 2 girls and a boy, but I have 3 girls. Then she said, one must be a tomboy, and boy is she right! My middle child actually wears Cars underwear! haha

Lastly (sorry long post) she saw that we would eventually return to Australia one day. So I guess I am doing all of this hassle of immigration for nothing.

Anyway, it was a bit of fun to lighten my mood

Thank God the world cup has started. at least I have something to get my mind away from the NVC processing nonsense for a month

I 100% agree! The games are helping me pass my days quicker and divert my attention off something other than the visa process!

I think mail can only be delivered to NVC Monday through Friday so your express mail should arrive at NVC on Monday.

However, rumor has it that NVC employees are working on Saturdays. So I'd assume they should be able to receive mail on Saturday. Maybe Mail Receivers don't work on Saturdays (or the rumor of NVC employees working on Saturdays is not exactly accurate)?

To give everyone a clear picture of how mail is delivered to a US government agency.

All mail is delivered to a separate location than the actual physical office. These locations are only open Monday through Friday. The US post office, FedEx, or UPS, etc hold any mail that is due to be delivered on a weekend or holiday until the next available business day in which the mail location is open.

One, that is why mail delivered to NVC is not actually scan on the date that it is delivered.

Two, the mail depot is a separate office than the NVC process and review office, therefore the two do not work on the same OT schedule.

WOW!!! She seems to be too close to predict things right.

We used to believe in astrology but life taught us to believe in ourselves. Sometimes when we need re-confirmation for things that we are going through or planned and someone puts a stamp - it gives us self-satisfaction. We however do believe in God and Miracles. Hope you get your completed faster than Taro reader's predictions and also have a happier life in the US so no need to go back to Australia. LOL

I wouldn't get to excited, no one knows how Paraguay made it to the World Cup. They aren't a very good team and made it by shear luck. My parents, just the two of them could have played better than the Paraguayan team did, sad to say.

Surname is your last name for example John F. Kennedy, his surname is Kennedy. hope that helps.
