My partner went for her Medical today in Brisbane, Australia. We were lucky - they scheduled the exam for her even though we don't have our Case Complete email yet, nor our interview date. Turns out all they wanted was her case number, so we could have gotten her exam done two months ago!

Anyway, I was surprised that they told her it would take seven days for the results, AND, she has to go back to their office to pick it up. It takes us an hour-and-a-half train ride to get into Brisbane.

The receptionist said we could have it mailed to us for an extra $20, but firmly discouraged this method.

I, myself, think that $475 for an exam is an outrage, and having to go back to pick it up is too. However, it is the last "tick" of the box prior to our interview, and for that, we are both thankful.

I see LifeOnHold got her CC email on June 9. That means ours will probably come on June 11. Sure wish we'd get that interview email, though!

I've not seen any interviews given in the last three working days at NVC...

I'm just back home after my Medical exam. Yay! That's over with. Mine cost $280 Canadian, so ~$310 American, but since the closest place for me is 12 hrs drive away (one way) or a flight, it also cost me $550 Canadian to fly there for the appointment. No vaccinations required, just straight exam fees.

CASE COMPLETE !!!!!

I am in TOTAL disbelief right now. No checklist!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! :goofy::goofy::goofy:

Just called NVC, got case complete today! So happy. Thank you for all who contributed in this forum which helped me get through this process without any checklist. Good luck to all! By the way aos fee never changed to n/a for me...

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TOO!! :dance::dance::dance:

did you show the rental income in your tax returns?

I also filed the ez and showed rental income on my tax returns. I entered the "Total Income" from the tax transcript in the 864ez. They didnt ask me to correct my income.

Yes I did, this is my first year of rental income and that too just 2 months. I did my taxes at H&R Block and send IRS everything in the tax return in hope not to get a checklist. I don't exactly remember what I put in there for income but I think it was the total income (W2 + rental) which made sense to me. That the amount in one of box in tax return. I will have to double check.

I am so glad you didn't get checklist with EZ form and rental income. That is a breather and I hope its the same for me too. If anyone else wants to chime in please let me know.

You mean it cost $550 to fly from Calgary to Vancouver!? :wow: That is expensive! :unsure:

Plus, you'll have to fly to Montreal ($600 to fly there from Calgary?) for your interview so this immigration process is sure expensive! :wacko: I just checked how much it costs to fly from Vancouver to Montreal in Sept - $650! :wow: I'm using my miles to fly to Montreal and am staying at my friend's house so it shouldn't be too bad. ^_^

Well, it's nice to know that the medical exam was $280 (CAD). I mean it's still expensive, but it's not as bad as I thought. :yes:

We sent the AOS on May 15th and got a checklist today 13th via EP so it doesn't look that it's more than 30 days . I mean if we got a checklist they actually went through it.

really?? that's great to hear...but not the checklist... sorry for the checklist...

then I hope operator is lying to me because when I called today, they said start from June11 and count 30 days to expect any answers from NVC...SO i was kinda upset because thats almost 2 months....=(

Good luck and congrats on the movement... hope they will review your checklist asap...

Wow! That means I am just waiting for the checklist! I guess I should send them I864 ASAP. Do you think they will process the new one when they get to process my file? Since they scanned it 29th May, I would there is a bit of window to send the correct ones.

Also I am going to visit wife but I am waiting for case complete, I really don't want to get checklist. This system really sucks, there are just doing 'gotcha' when the proof is already there in documents. Thank you so much!

oh no....but you should def call them and talk to a supervisor to explain that situation that you already knew you sent something wrong and would like to correct it to avoid any delay and see what they will say.

But I think send two different documents under same barcode will confuse them if they don't know the situation and it might be risky for more delay. But im not quite sure...

there is possibility that they won't issue any checklist, i think it really depends.... cause I heard many people got checklist for not putting N/A, and many people did not get any checklist for same issue....keep finger crossed.... :luv::luv:

My wife is devastated...my stepdaughter will have to start the school year again overseas. She is sure now that there is no way we can get checklist reviewed and an interview date in August. It will be Sept. or Oct. and I am not sure I can tell her she is wrong. NVC is going soooo slow. I wish they gave a ####### about how they are just adding to the pain that we all feel. How ridiculous that they just cant send an email and we cant just send one back with a corrected pdf? This is the 21st Century for goodness sake. Such an antiquated system of having to push so much damn paper. I cant even breathe right now :(

Agent Rick (I have another name for him) told me the mail from the 16th is still being reviewed. So I asked for clarification since I was told the same thing this afternoon. I asked if it was with an officer, he said our packages aren't assigned to one person (so several people look at our packages? wth). I explained the sudden change in terminology over the past few days from "hasn't been reviewed" to "being reviewed".

"Is there anything else I can help you with besides this topic?"

I'm off here until I get a case complete. I need to unplug and I just can't take anymore of this nightmare. I told that Agent that our lives are on hold and I keep calling because I want to get on with my life. Why should this have to be explained to another human being?
