we called yesterday, no news.

They're now expediting (fast tracking) all those USC living abroad again.. Unlike the ones last year. :/

I'm happy for those benefitting from the expedites, but it is a little salt in the wound after waiting for so long and having filed from abroad :(

I called tha AOS was riviewed and I was told we are going to received a checklist because there is something wrongln it. She didn't want to tell was wrong, I am so sad :( :( this is going to delay more the process.

The IV packet hasn't reviewed yet!

It's probably best to wait for the email to find out for sure what they are looking for, but the operator should definitely tell you what was wrong with the AOS. When we got a checklist last month for our AOS the operator told me what was wrong when I asked. I asked her exactly which lines needed to be corrected and how to correct them, as well as specific questions about a missing document from our joint sponsor.

We waited to receive the checklist email to be 100% sure that the operator was correct before sending out the checklist package, but it was nice to know ahead of time to make sure we had everything ready by the time we got the email. I even called back after we got the checklist email, to review everything with an operator and make sure I understood exactly what they were asking for. I prepared questions before calling to to make sure I didn't forget anything.

I would definitely suggest calling back, if you haven't received the email yet (or even if you have), and hopefully you get a more helpful operator this time.

It doesn't seem like anyone has called yet... they started the 15th last night, but that seems to be only for the AOS packages. No idea where they are with IVs. Someone posted a new thread about getting a CC last night and their IV was received on the 14th.

21 business days. Last week they were taking 16 business days.

I'm thinking it's not the technology that's holding them back, but rather they only have so many employees to answer calls.

(I obviously understand they can hire more people to help the call load, but I don't think NVC sees this :P )

I love the screenshot you provided ;):star:

Looks like the petitioner is living abroad, and I don't know how frequent it is anymore, but there was a time when USCIS fast-tracked all cases (after DCF was abolished in most countries) with petitioners living abroad. Those cases would get reviewed in like one month time.

If you mean for I-130, I don't know. It was dumb luck, I guess. I sent the petition from abroad, where I've been living for nearly two years, and it was routed to the CSC. We are extremely grateful for it, as we were expecting 6-8 months for the I-130 approval. There were maybe 10 petitioners on this site who were auto-expedited in the month of April, for no reason that I can discern.

As for the embassy switch, I don't know. I wrote to the consular section of the US Embassy of Paris asking for permission to change the embassy. I had been told by the NVC that I would need this permission in order to later ask the NVC to make the switch. I didn't receive a reply from them, but now our case number has changed. I assume something happened behind the scenes. I won't question it!

They're now expediting (fast tracking) all those USC living abroad again.. Unlike the ones last year. :/

Wow... We were both living in the Netherlands when we applied for the I-130, however to make sure that the paperwork was sent to right address we chose to fill the new address in the States for my wife (petitioner).. If we just have changed her address after USCIS approval we could have bypassed like 8 months of horrible waiting. #MASSIVEFAIL :(:(

Oh I know, there are others out there like yourself who had it worse than we did. 9 months was painful enough, and now they are getting done in a matter of weeks.

Curse you USCIS!!

* Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not unhappy with the people getting fast approvals - fantastic news for them. I'm unhappy with this ridiculous system and the fact that there is no consistency whatsoever.

Wasn't the idea for the I-130s to move faster? I really hate seeing posts from people complaining about the I-130s moving faster just because it didn't happen to us. I'm sure my opinion isn't going to be popular, but I don't think it's right to poo-poo on someone for getting thru faster. Congrats to the fast approvals! I'm happy to see that our letters shifted their tooshies into gear and those who filed behind us are reaping the benefits. That was the point of our letters! Not just for us to get through quickly, but everyone.

Sorry but I don't feel all warm and fuzzy when I think about the 11 months and 6 long days I had to wait for the USCIS to approve my file. :clock:

I have nothing against the actual people, it just makes me so so sick to my stomach that this happens. How can they approve a petition in a month when they let others dangle on the end of a thread for 11 months? Then to spend 2 more months at the NVC.... ridiculous checklists for stupid sh!t that can be brought to the interview..... This is the main reason why I can't even be on this thread anymore. I read all the posts but it annoys me me that all these people are stuck waiting to pay a dang fee and send in their packages..... then stupid checklists........ I can't stand it anymore.

I spent 11 months at the USCIS, I feel like I have every reason to complain !

You of all of us I don't expect to feel warm and fuzzy for one second, and I'm in no way suggesting that we should applaud USCIS for suddenly remembering how to do their job. An the way the treated everyone stuck in the backlog of 2013 is just disgusting. I'm still mad at USCIS and will be for a long time, but I'm actually happy to see it's moving faster, so others don't have to experience that kind of waiting game. But does that mean everyone who files has to be stuck there for 9-13 months? That's how it comes across sometimes (that's not directed at you or any one post in particular). This could just be me at the end of my rope being too emotional lol

Complaining about USCIS and reminding our elected officials they dropped a major ball? Yes yes yes!!

Don't get me started on NVC. They're on my list!!!
