Ok. It already happened. Cant do anything about it. Composing myself and keep going.. im telling myself not to call NVC from now on.but i know, i cant resist because my husband wont do that. Im thinking that he really doesnt want me to be with him. What a total mess. :)

It is understandable for you to think that way but just bec. We think our husband's don't care doesn't mean they really don't care. No offense to guys here but if my husband was the one doing all this process It will probably take forever too! Lol he is the best but he just doesn't have the patience to call nvc everyday or read the wiki more than once. Hope you and your husband will be able to resolve this and be United soon. Just think this is one of the trials that u need to go through to make ur relationship even more stronger!:D

Ok I just spoke with them. She said they are quite back logged and are not working OT or Saturdays. Which is quite contradictory to what some people said here.

In regards to aos and IV, she also said we could use aos barcode for sending IV docs. I know many people are getting similar answer but I personally do not know how much of this is truth? If this was the case then why would they even wait and review ds261 to bill us IV? I am tempted but scared to take this step. :( :( :(

The US government rarely works OT or Saturdays. I don't know why people don't believe me when my husband works for the US government. But it is what it is. :)

Per my understanding both barcodes look the same. Not sure if they are identical though? This is a tricky part. They many look the same but may not be same. Who knows they are barcodes!

Good point about someone who used aos cover sheet to send civil docs. They can confirm if his/her docs were scanned as civil or aos??

Saylin - can you please weigh your opinion here?

I agree with Saylin's take completely.

I talked to Amanda (NVC agent). She was super nice! :)

She suggested that I send my IV package using the AOS cover sheet in order to get my package into the system ASAP. She told me that it wouldn't cause any problem if they end up opening my IV package before paying the IV fee. ^_^

I asked her to transfer the call to a supervisor just to double check this info. I talked to Octavio (Supervisor) and he told me the same thing. According to him, the bar code is almost the same for AOS and IV so nobody at NVC will get confused if I send my IV package with the AOS cover sheet.

However, he mentioned that I still have to fill out the DS-260 form, and the form won't be available until I pay the IV fee. So he was saying that I may not end up saving any time since they still have to review my DS-260 form and it takes 30 days. It can only benefit me if there is a good chance I'll receive a checklist on my IV package.

On the I-130 Facebook group, someone called NVC and asked the same question. An NVC agent told her not to do it because her documents might get lost. Another person called NVC and asked the same question too. She was told she could do it since she had waited for more than 3 weeks to pay the IV fee. We're getting different information from NVC on this issue.

Well, May (NVC agent) mentioned that some people were not getting the IV fee invoice because they filled out the DS-261 from too early. Maybe I'll get an IV invoice sooner since I waited to fill out the form until receiving the initial email from NVC? Fingers crossed! :star:

Interesting thought from the operator (not agent... just call center operator) on the last subject.

The rest basically you're saying it doesn't save ANY time whatsoever if you've done it all correctly.

Also remember these are call center people, they are not working on cases.

I received the e-mail to fill out the DS-261 on May 20 at 1PM. I filled it out that day at 7PM and it's shown as received by them on May 21. I'm still waiting for the IV to be invoiced, so I can't say it works any quicker since I'm 22 days in............ and they still haven't scanned in my AOS, but I sent it electronically and we have so little data here on people who are doing this, since the recent delays started. So I can't say if this is normal or not.

I waited for the email and I'm still waiting for the IV fee to show up. I think every one is trying to make sense of something that has nothing remotely close to it. :)

Wow lucky u never had that privileged only dialing once and getting through!Lol

I rang once right on 7am and spilled an entire cup of tea on myself when not only did I get through first try, but the call actually got answered without any hold music! Fortunately it was Abby who answered and she laughed when I told her what had happened. I was so surprised! I'll bet I wouldn't have gotten the same response from Joy...

Sweet heart he wouldn't be paying a lawyer to do the paper work if he didn't love and want to be with you. One he thinks the lawyer will get you to him sooner. There is the proof right in front of you but this process is blinding you of it. Your almost there, just a little longer, men don't like to be nagged and it's best to try to understand him and know that soon you will be together. Try to understand him and just be sweet it will get you further. I'll be praying for you but you don't really need it. :)

As someone who works with VOIP and modern telephonry, I must say the NVC is a crying shame. A T-1 circuit has the capacity of a measly 1.34 megs of internet data, yet you can comfortable conduct 24 different VOIP conversations on it; a DS-3 gets you 45 megs or 672 convos. Any carrier worth their salt will have multiple SIP trunks and DS-3's devoted to voice. With any half-way passable carrier and a modern VOIP hosted solution for the IVR you should be able to handle tens or hundreds thousands and thousands of calls at the same time, much more than is likely to ever call at one time. My guess is that the NVC is stuck using old POTS technology and managing their own PBX's or PRI's on site, which is why they suck so badly. I should really get my company to try to sell them.

Yes! Do that! They need to upgrade!

nvc cust. Rep told me that they received my visa petition on May 8th, but I called 3 days ago and again today and they are now saying that my case is not in their system. I shoulda had my case number by now. Waiting for nvcresearch@state.gov for their results. What a Father's Day gift this would be to have my case back in their system and my case number. I'm eager to pay some fees

Yes they might have your case file with them but they haven't input it into their system yet, guess that's what they meant by telling you that your case is not in their system. NVC is really backlogged. My AOS package is sitting and waiting in their mail room waiting to be scanned into the system.
