You were our awesome psychic in the September thread, hows about some more of your psychic powers now? :-P

Haha I remember those days!

Honestly, as we are hearing from multiple NVC agents and now also supervisors, I believe we might be able to use it. But knowing NVC doesn't follow it's own guidelines when issuing checklists for aos, I am afraid they might be even more brutal when it comes to us not following the process for IV!

Honestly speaking, im the benefiaciary and my husband is the one who can talked to this lawyer. Im blaming my husband for not listening to me. At uscis stage, i told my husband that he had to talked to that attorney because we have rfe. He is not listening because he was confident that the attorney is doing his job. Qe ended up 1month doing nothing because the uscis is waitong for that rfe. And now? Now? Really frustrating.. im thinking of not going ther with mu husband.if he wants to be with me, then he should go home here.

You should fire him, send an email to NVC to remove him and petitioner to be the agent; do everything urself, this forum is amazing and no need for pointless lawyers. I had one and thank god once i got my fees invoiced i removed him bc i knew i will be up to things more than anyone else.

Good luck,

Ask for money back that is no service at all other than filling things up.

This lawyers make me so mad

AOS scanned into their system last may 13. I called NVC and the rep told me that my ds260 and AOS is "ok" and they are just waiting for my civil documents.

I am so sorry to hear about this unfortunate setback. I can only imagine the emotions you're having right now. :-(

Frustrated.. my husband and i kept on arguing about the ds260. The attorney insisting that i have to sign the paper based application. But i stand on what i know. I filled up the online based application of ds260 without letting that attorney know. I did it all by myself. Maybe its one of his stupid reasons of not sending the civil documents, maybe he's waiting for the forms.. i want to stay here in tgehe philippines. :( if i am not calling the nvc, we are totally waiting for nothing. what a mess!

Im just sad and mad at the same time.. i cant do anything here in the philippines. :(

I have a feeling that this process will take even longer.. my husband is planning to change his address on july 1st.. i cant think straight..

These barcodes are nothing more than your case number encoded in CODE_39 format.

As a test, just point the barcode scanner app on your smartphone at it.

They may be using OCR technology on the attention line, but I doubt it.

I did some reading on bar codes and this is what I found:

"Barcodes are often used to separate batches of paper documents for image scanning. In this scenario, barcodes attached to separator pages contain only generic information. Adding barcode pages adds a negligible amount to the document preparation time, but it saves time further down the line as users are able to load batches of documents into the scanner at the same time.

This is a very basic use of barcodes in document processing. However, it significantly speeds up the scanning process as human intervention is minimised."

This indicates that the AOS and IV Barcodes serve two different purposes and it is likely that sending the AOS barcode coversheet with IV documents could result in the documents being scanned as AOS docs. In other words, vaguely knowing how the boys and girls at the NVC roll, there's a good chance that this can cause loss of documents or checklists. We can learn from the person that sent it..I hope I am wrong and it can save us all a valuable 2-3 weeks.

Im sorry :( like i was saying lawyers are a waste of money. But let me tell you, im an LPR and have been waiting for 2.6 years now and just got CC, im the petitioner and i can assure you that your husband is trying to just do the correct thing. I would be mad if this had happened but if i was you i would just insult the hell lol of that lawyer. Now due to distance just hold ur husbands hand virtually and keep going.

Is hard to be apart a d lawyers and NVC dont seem to understNd.

I wish you good luck and hope that it gets resolved fast

These whole NVC process makes us think of the negativities. Keep the faith sparrow. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. ;)

I talked to Amanda (NVC agent). She was super nice! :)

She suggested that I send my IV package using the AOS cover sheet in order to get my package into the system ASAP. She told me that it wouldn't cause any problem if they end up opening my IV package before paying the IV fee. ^_^

I asked her to transfer the call to a supervisor just to double check this info. I talked to Octavio (Supervisor) and he told me the same thing. According to him, the bar code is almost the same for AOS and IV so nobody at NVC will get confused if I send my IV package with the AOS cover sheet.

However, he mentioned that I still have to fill out the DS-260 form, and the form won't be available until I pay the IV fee. So he was saying that I may not end up saving any time since they still have to review my DS-260 form and it takes 30 days. It can only benefit me if there is a good chance I'll receive a checklist on my IV package.

On the I-130 Facebook group, someone called NVC and asked the same question. An NVC agent told her not to do it because her documents might get lost. Another person called NVC and asked the same question too. She was told she could do it since she had waited for more than 3 weeks to pay the IV fee. We're getting different information from NVC on this issue.

Well, May (NVC agent) mentioned that some people were not getting the IV fee invoice because they filled out the DS-261 from too early. Maybe I'll get an IV invoice sooner since I waited to fill out the form until receiving the initial email from NVC? Fingers crossed! :star:
