you have to wait until they review your documents. Right now it looks like they are reviewing May 7th.

It used to take 2 weeks but its taking 3-4 now.

That's strange since they're now faster when it comes to assigning case numbers. I just got my case number in 23 days. It used to take 5 weeks a couple of months ago.

I thought there were fewer people at the NVC stage compared to 2-3 months ago? :huh2:

I use to get banned from chat rooms because I would go in as an open bracket, and tell people to press F4 just to see them all leave chat at once..

the USCIS has been approving files in 5 months. Apparently the NVC got a little backlogged.

I got my case number the same day it was received.. You can never tell what they will do next... but as far as reviewing documents... they have slowed down lately.

Saylin, I just noticed on the ceac site under "browser requirements" that it now shows:

  Quote
Browser Requirements
  1. 128-bit encryption support
  2. JavaScript enabled
  3. Internet Explorer version 6.0 and higher, Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher, or Chrome version 16 or higher

I imagine keeping up with the ever changing browsers on your wiki would get a bit tedious, but you could replace the sentence about using only IE with something along the lines of "Important Note: When using the payment portal and online forms portal, please check the current browser requirements marked as "Important: Before you begin". The site is designed and tested for the browser versions listed only. If it works in other browsers, it's a bonus for them...."

Then again, on second thoughts, The fact that it says "Important: Before you begin" probably means people won't read it anyway, so you could probably leave it as is

Ohhh, they must have updated it then as I believe it used to only state IE. I'll update the wiki in a second and probably just remove the entire note as those 3 browsers are what most people use anyways.

Thanks for letting me know! ;)

It's maybe part of their recent updates to the system, because I'm sure it said IE only just a few weeks ago.

PS: Can anyone tell me how to put the timeline in your signature as a spoiler? My signature takes up half the page lol

Hi everyone. I can't seem to get help anywhere related to i864...

I think my sponsor's situation is one of a kind.

He is a business owner, works with wife. He doesn't get payroll but wife gets payroll. Their transcripts are identical. Wife gets w2, he doesnt obviously. Now when i fill out part 5, current income, i put their combined total income from transcript. But there is a section right below it asking if anyone elses income was included in the current income. Technically his wife's income is included in that if i write her name as PART 6.a and her payroll amount for the year and add them at PART 6.10 it will not match the current income. (I just called and lady was bitter so I couldnt explain it to her. She insisted I put line 22 in current income and whatever wife makes in 6.a section, well if you add line 22 and wife's w2 amount it will be totalincome+w2, which will be more(exactly w2 amount) than what the ACTUAL tax return transcript shows.)

I am very confused on how to go about this. Should I just joint sponsor w/ his wife instead? and not include him at all(No 864A)? Since her income can be separated and she has w2 transcript to attach to show only her portion of the total income from the tax return transcript?

In that case: For HER current income I only put the section from tax return transcript that applies to her(IE: the w2 amount which exactly matches "her contribution")

Skip to 6.13 and for Total incomes for past 3 years, Put husband+wife combined?

THANKS /sigh

I am so frustrated. I tried filling my taxes online and I could not, because it wanted certain numbers for my husband. So my mom talked to her tax lady about it and she said it was no problem. So I made an appointment with her and explained everything to her. She said yep that is no problem. So I sat down with her as she filled out my taxes, and I saw her mark married filling separately. Now that I need to send AOS package I am making copies of my 1040 and I see it says SINGLE!! THE ANGER I HAVE RIGHT NOW. Trying to calm down and hoping this doesnt make a problem for me. My mom is saying I might be ok, because we were married after June. I was hoping anyone could shed some light on this and if any of you filled single and if it caused any problems for you!

Married for 1 day in 2013 is still considered married.... :)

Immediately file a 1040X changing the filing status from SINGLE to MFS. It is a very simple form and you can do it yourself or if you can get hold of the tax preparer she can do it. It should take no more than 5 minutes.

Once you have mailed this 1040X, submit a copy of it along with the rest of your 1040 tax return (including W2s, 1099s etc) with your AOS package.

Later you can fire the tax lady... :) :)
