NVC Filers - June 2014

I'll be attaching my tax return, 2 year's tax transcripts, pay stubs, and employer letter since I just got a promotion and a raise at work. Also I don't round numbers unless instructed to lol. And I have read and noted the DS-261 thing. What will they do when you call them?

It's mainly to call to see if it's a glitch, if they show record of it being completed, should you re-submit and will that start the clock over again at resubmission. That would be the reason to call :-D

If they have no record, then you'd be SOL, but better off re-submitting sooner rather than later. So, print off the confirmation sheet as soon as it's completed (although in one member's case, that didn't make a difference and they needed to resubmit anyway) :/

You mean it costs $90 to send a package from the UK!? Sorry for the checklist. It really sucks.

Via UPS to get to the States within a 1 or 2 business days yes.. for something that was already there and the UK DOESN'T provide.. No wonder they get backlogged, they checklist people for the silliest things. Then of course, it takes "30 business days" to review those silly things.

Seems like people are getting a lot of check lists of the I-864. I did mine (no cosponsor, make about 48,000 a year) and it did not seem to complicated to me. What are the common pitfalls? I am also going to send it to my lawyer to check before I mail it in.

Don't leave anything blank. Put None or N/A. Plus make sure if you have to have a statement of something, put it on there 3 or 4 times in sticky notes on random places, but who knows they must not know how to read sometimes.. They don't know how to read their own instructions, or they want you to come up with something that purely doesn't exist.. It's a game with the NVC.

I was told this as well, and did send my civil documents in with the AOS cover sheet so we will see if it makes a difference. I still can't pay the IV invoice but at least my 30 days of being scanned into their mail room has hopefully started. Many people are saying Don't do this but I guess it is all risk so up to you....good luck!

I remember you're the one who sent your IV package with the AOS bar-coded cover sheet on this thread! Now people are paying attention to this trick on the I-130 Facebook group!

Did you fill out the DS-261 form before receiving the initial email from NVC? May (NVC agent) told an I-130 Facebook group member that she can't pay her IV fee because she filled out the DS-261 form too early! I guess it was fine to fill the DS-261 form before receiving the email from NVC until early May, but it seems to be causing problems after the website upgrade. Of course, I'm not 100% sure if this information is accurate since only one NVC agent mentioned this.

We received a checklist today. For something so incredibly STUPID. I'm going to emphasise the word STUPID here. The wife worked in the UK last year, she sent all the paper work in she sent to her CPA with her 2013 taxes and the P60 form. We got a checklist for the W-2 forms, which we even made a statement stating they do not PROVIDE w-2 forms in the UK. Everything else was accepted.

Supervisor review, or just send in the statement? Or do both?!

My tax return and tax transcripts but my W-2 has decimals on it for my gross income. I sent a copy of the W-2 with the copy of the return. Will NVC have a problem with this? They better not, as the IRS sure as heck didn't.

Quick Question!

I'm on the I-130 Facebook group. We've been talking about using the AOS bar-coded cover sheet to send an IV package.

Many of us have been waiting for 20-30+ days to pay the IV fee. Some people on the I-130 Facebook group called NVC to report this problem. Some NVC agents suggested that we use the AOS bar-coded cover sheet to send our IV packages.

It's tempting to send my IV package next week using the AOS bar-coded cover sheet. However, I'm sending my original birth certificate and police certificates so I don't want them to go missing. If they lose my original documents, I'll have to replace them and it could take months.

I know we briefly talked about this issue on this thread. I was wondering if other people have called NVC and they got the same info that it's okay to use the AOS bar-coded cover sheet to send an IV package.

I talked to many operators at the NVC... A few told me the packages goto the same department and then split up for review. Some people send in documents before they even get the barcode sheets. They said it happens all the time. I think if I were waiting as long as you guys, I would go ahead and send then IV docs with the AOS barcode sheet. It will get in the queue and your mail will be reviewed earlier. Just write a cover letter explaining that you had a problem accessing the IV barcode... Make something up... The documents will get to the right place eventually. IMO, its better than waiting 30 more days !!!

They checklisted me for a police cert. I asked for a suervisor review and the next day it was removed. Its worth a try. They do make mistakes ya know !!!! Call them on it. If you don't ask you will never know....

As long as you used the total income on your AOS if you filed the 1040. It has to match or they will reject it !

How long did the supervisor review take? She asked to put one in because it clearly shows in the 2013 tax returns that she didn't work in the US and there's no W-2's. They said it would take 30 business days for the review, and especially since she asked to speak with one. What if they don't accept it? Won't it delay it more? :/

June.09.2014 - AoS Fee link open, Submit the fee

Waiting for the IV fee link, and application to open. Any suggestion, how long it would take?

Holding to send AoS documents. Planning to send them along with IV docs. Is it fine?

Do NVC need PCC in order to issue Visa Interview? Issuance of PCC in my home country took one month or more.

We're going to send it tomorrow and pay over $90 just for this STUPID statement. Wife seems very angry as she already made another cover letter, plus another statement and attached the P60 form again with a sticky note repeating the UK does NOT PROVIDE W-2 forms in the UK. Hopefully they'll get their arses in gear and speed things up and it won't take 30 business days to review this, and hopefully we make it for an August interview. *Sigh*

As long as you used the total income on your AOS if you filed the 1040. It has to match or they will reject it !

I sent in a copy of our 1040A and took the income directly off of that and put it onto the AOS form (gross income, per the instructions).
