The actual download of your tax transcripts takes just a few min. The returns are what you have, so the IRS does not make them available to you. You should always keep a copy of your returns. The IRS processes your 1040 (which is your return) after you send it to them and it takes them a few days to several weeks to generate your transcripts.

Guys how long does it take to download tax returns from IRS? We have to fill 1040 form and then how long after that will the returns be available?

Actually yeah there wasn't any case complete post when I come to think of it! Now I m curious myself lol!!

Back in early May, IV invoices were taking only a day or 2, atleast it did for our cases. We submitted IV and AOS packages together. Both of them were reviewd yesterday. IV has been approved. The only reason we did not get CC is becuase I left the address blank instead of writing N/A for I-864A. So, once I receive the checklist via email, I am supposed to mail that in for both of our cases (in-laws) and it will take another 30 days from the scan date for CC. I feel really bad for you guys that are waiting for spouses and children. Back in 2009, my husband's I-130 was approved in 25 days, and NVC was approved within 5 months (that is because, we always waited for their correspondence over the snail mail to get to India). This is absolutely absurd... Abuse of power and waste of resources. They either need to fix their instructions for the form or stop giving out stupid checklist for stupid things like this. I sent a complaint to OIG for fraud, waste and abuse. Just imagine, how many check-list do you think NVC have for not writing N/A and leaving blanks. Only if they fixed their instructions OR referred everyone to this forum OR let the beneficiary take the CORRECTED version of I-864A to the interview, their workload will be way less than it is.

Thanks!

this is just sad!!!! NVC is a drag.......

then i don't think i will be able to get any answers =( mine was sent in may 20th through EP... :clock::clock::cry::cry:

they wouldnt even tell me if mine was under review or something..they only told me they couldn't help me due to no access to EP =( just bs.. blah blah blah.... :ranting::ranting:

have you gotten IV invoice yet? i'm still waiting on that. so if checklist comes before IV, then wait 30 days + doesn't make any diff since i still have to wait 30+ for IV process..but make sure we don't make same mistake on IV :secret::secret:

totally agree!!! Those stupid checklists for N/A are just not only wasting our time but also wasting their time to review the correct version with N/A on it.. :ranting::ranting::ranting::protest::protest::protest::protest:

yes, back then for children and spouse were way faster, cause my mom applied visa for me back in 12/2002, and I entered the US 4/26/2003, lol I still remember the date...

I guess too many people are applying for immigrant visa nowadays. USCIS really needs to balance the workload, cause NVC got slower now because USCIS approves 130 too fast now...everything are sent to NVC....and now backlog...

But I feel bad for those who applied early 2013, and finally got case complete now.... =( :clock::clock:

Good luck... you are almost there... :goofy:

what was the checklist for?

no "we".. you are :)

I'm stuck with the stupid AOS checklist for not writing N/A in place of residence.

It makes sense to me - if you get a checklist and respond it somehow should take priority over NEW reviews, because we all waited for the initial revue already. Another thing that drives me crazy is my wifes case is complete and has been just sitting for two weeks now because my daughters case was held up. The reason her case was hed up (checklisted) is I didn't provide duplicate evidence for her AOS, it is the SAME information already accepted on wifes AOS and was all in the same envelope togethor. BUT instead of fast tracking the case that hold up my wifes case they drag the completed case back to the one still waiting...

The only way you can explain it is that it is that all rational decisions have been taken out of the equation and it is a series of checklists, if everything is in the right boxes it passes otherwise it gets sent to the back of the line, crazy but true not sure it is the way I would run a retail business but look up government red tape in the dictionary and you probably see the USCIS/NVC logo.

That said, it is NOT the guy/girl who answers the phones fault and will probably never change. will be so happy to be looking at this in the rear view mirror.

They say to allow up to 30 days for review, but a lot of people here on VJ with packages sent in around May 12-13 are getting theirs reviewed now. Yours should be coming up soon if it hasn't already. You should call NVC if you can. You won't receive an email that your case is complete until a week after it happens, so there might be news waiting for you.

hi BOS,

One thing i let you know that we have resubmitted AOS package again on 12 MAY becuase my wife missed to include her Job letter and 2013 tax returns in april AOS package checklist, so it again take 30 days to review ?. We still receive case completion email from NVC after 30 days or thay send the case to local embassy (Pakistan) directly?

thanx in advance

Each package you send them can take up to 30 days to review, yes, even if you're just submitting a checklist response. A month from May 12 is right about now, so hopefully you have case complete or will have it very soon.

When your case is completed you go into the queue to be assigned an interview date. Your case stays at NVC until your interview is scheduled, then NVC will ship it to the embassy. Most people receive case complete email a week after the case is actually completed, but this isn't true for everyone. The email doesn't tell you when your case was completed; the only way to get that date is by calling NVC. Knowing the date your case is complete will help you estimate when you might get an interview.

I just had my first interaction with Joy. She didn't yell at me. Maybe she read my open letter?

Anyway, not under review yet. She told me to expect a case complete the first week of July. I nearly told her to take a long walk off a short pier. I asked her if it was possible for her to let her supervisor or someone know that their own web site is inaccurate as it states 2-4 weeks and it would probably lower call volume if their site was giving accurate information. She said they have an unsual amount of mail and while it "was" taking 2-4 weeks, that is not the case right now. She would not tell me what date range they're on, even after I said people around my date are getting answers (she sighed at me, I don't think she likes informed customers lol).

whaaaaaaat?

that's gonna be more than 30 business days for!!!

my deadline is July 2nd.
