Hey guys, congrats to all who received good new today and yesterday.

Quick question, if someone is sending an AOS package through e-mail, how long does it normally take for the NVC to show they have received it. I had it send on the 27th of May, and when I called today, they confirmed they have payment for the AOS and the DS-261 shown as complete, but nothing about the AOS package. Can anyone give me any information on this?

Dear JayBabay,

Just to make sure you did not shoot yourself in the foot again. Did you confirm that you could send AOS package via email instead of the originals? I thought only EP registrants could do that and that is available only at a handful of US Posts around the world.

I don't wanna cause a panic, but it doesn't hurt to double-check.

you don't need a translation if arabic is the egyptian official language (which it is)

Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

It is required at the US Egyptian Embassy to have everything translated into English, no exceptions.

Hey,

Yes, the Amman embassy requires that you e-mail your documents directly, you cannot mail them :/. But I just wasn't sure if it is the same as the standard 30 days wait time like for any other e-mail sent to NVC. Thank you for remembering my earlier issue, haha great family we have here.

Not sure if I was supposed to put zero there :( And not sure what I did on mine I don't see it and I thought I saved it. OMG I'M GOING TO GO CRAZY! I hope I'm just over thinking this!

Oooops! I missed that last part.... didn't use one from the list.

Embassy shouldn't care anyway, as they would probably throw the translation away (I hope!).

JayBabay is from Jordan (AMM) so I guess he's fine. Regarding the need to enroll, didn't someone mention that enrollment is no longer required by NVC? Or is it just you don't need to wait for confirmation to email docs?

You would think if it's mandatory (as the case with AMM) then emailing docs direct is all that is required and needed.

Hey,

Yes, the Amman embassy requires that you e-mail your documents directly, you cannot mail them :/. But I just wasn't sure if it is the same as the standard 30 days wait time like for any other e-mail sent to NVC. Thank you for remembering my earlier issue, haha great family we have here.

That's what we are here for... looking after each other. ;)

Best of luck to you.

PS. By the way, response to emails takes nearly a month. That has been the case even before the recent mounting backlog. I'm not sure though it applies to EP responses.

I bet you're the type who relive the details and fret after every exam and drive your friends crazy.

Since you're not even sure what you put there, I would let it be for now and trust to a couple of prayers. Time to dish out some for yourself for a change.

Anyway, you've officially reached your June cap for things to stress over. No more new stress! Doctor's orders.
