I am so happy for everyone with good news today!!! After an emotional rollercoaster of a week (a checklist on Saturday followed by sending my response with an error and having to do a switcheroo at the post office on Tuesday and my mother-in-law had a heart attack on Sunday) I really needed some positive news.

My checklist response is still in transit. Why do I bother paying for International Courier Express, when it is taking almost a week to get there? And then I still have to wait days for it to be scanned in.....Fingers crossed it is scanned in early next week :clock:

For those that are curious... DO NOT CLICK on "getting started" after you have your choice of agent as "completed"

I made the same mistake... and in my case it reset the date. I verified by calling NVC. and they said that I have to wait 30 days from the NEW day...Fricking fraken!!! If you click on it to "check" if all is fine, I made a small change at bottom where it asked if someone had helped. That change reset my submission date about 3 weeks. sucks!

I think NVC is doing to us (waiting for a CC) what they did to everyone waiting for their IV. Making us wait 30 days.

I can't call anymore. I'm tempted to shoot for the interview expedite, but I feel silly doing so. I am so done with this. I really regret applying for my husband to come here, I should have just sold my house and taken the financial hit. I'd have been in England a long time ago enjoying my life with my husband.

Today is not a good day.

Yesterday when I called, i was told that if you have a lawyer listed in your DS-261 (Online Choice of Agent and Address). Then you will get the AOS and IV around the same time. If you dont have a lawer listed then you will have to wait 30 days for the IV. If any one else calls please verify if this is true. I did not used a lawyer, so 30 day wait for me. I feel is punishment for not paying a layer.

I was told the same last week, then this week my resubmitted DS261 was REapproved and reset the dates. I have read that if you dont make any changes then you are ok. sadly that was not my case.

Hang in there. It shouldn't be too much longer. Listen, as soon as he arrives and you are together again you will be able to put all this behind you. At least it makes us appreciate what we have. I will be watching for your CC all day!

OMG! My husband's interview was scheduled today for July 25th in London! I just got an email:

An immigrant visa interview is scheduled for [my husband] and any eligible derivative applicants

(see applicants eligible to attend the interview below) at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in LONDON, GREAT

BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND on July 25, 2014 at 08:30 am.

We just got CC yesterday too. I thought we would be too late for a July interview..

International Courier Express taking a week!?

It takes 7 days to send a letter from North America to Asia or Europe by regular mail.

Maybe it takes longer from Australia?

OOOOOH! What good news from folks!!! It's early morning here in Australia, and I see that my L-Girls all got great news overnight. Wondering if LindyStephan has checked in (he can't be an L-Girl - well, maybe an honorary one....), as he's in the same date-range as the rest of us!!!

Also - Snikit15 - wondering about you!!!

I have to have breakfast before calling - I'm one of those people who need to eat first thing in the morning...it's only 5:15 p.m. in New Hampshire, so I'll have plenty of time to eat before finding out if we have an interview date.

We had originally booked to fly out of Australia on July 7th, because we figured on an early June interview. But because NVC screwed up our case, that date is really not possible.

Also, we're taking our grandkitty back to the US with us - and that will change how we get back to the US (we normally stop in Hong Kong for a few days - but no stopping now!!!) and I've been on tenterhooks because I have to rebook flights for us AND make sure we can get the cat home at the same time!

I'll check in later to let you know what happens!

We have two little dogs and we have to get them from here to New York. Not sure if it is an option for you but we are going to use a company called Jet Pets. Costs a bit of $$$ but they do a door to door and let them out for 'walkies' and food. They will also be overnighting in LA before flying onto New York. Costs more to send them than the children!!
