hey etrangals, I remember you from the July i-130 thread. How are you? Do you think you could answer my question? JazakAllah

I am betting 100% that they will just request that you also submit a full I-864 because every petitioner must fill one out, regardless if you have an income or not.

Even if they do ask me to fill out and I put in $0 as adjusted gross income. Would they then ask me to do 864a for my dad since I am using his info?

And if thats the case then what happens to my already submitted 864 on my dad's behalf?

Hey everyone great news

My wife's interview is scheduled for July 3rd in Islamabad. The issue is that the interview letter says that she needs to bring her original birth certificate and our original marriage certificate. The thing is is that I already sent this to NVC as part of my checklist that they scanned on May 13th

Any ideas?

I believe that the I-864 that you already submitted for your dad will be okay. They will just be waiting for your I-864 because you are the main sponsor/petitioner.

I'm not Jeff, but yes, you still have to fill and submit an i864 of your own with an explanation letter about why you didn't file taxes (ie: I was not required to file taxes for 2012 and 2013 because I was in school full time and had no income to report.)

You got a checklist for birth/marriage certificate originals, responded to the checklist, and then got a case complete telling you to bring the originals to the interview?

I was just curious of something. When filling out the DS260 it asks for a US address you intend to live at, and a contact at that address. Has anyone ever heard of the NVC or DOS actually calling them to ask questions?

I could be wrong, but I think they ask you for the US address so that they can mail you the green card there.

In my case and in most cases the petitioner is already living at that address.

I'm not Jeff, but yes, you still have to fill and submit an i864 of your own with an explanation letter about why you didn't file taxes (ie: I was not required to file taxes for 2012 and 2013 because I was in school full time and had no income to report.)

So when I do my own 864, it would be by itself and wouldn't use 864(a) because my dad already submitted another a separate 864.

is that correct?

Correct. I sent the checklist for birth, marriage certificates original. Scanned by NVC on May 13th. Today I got my interview letter and it states to bring the originals to the interview

I'll call them after I get out of work and get some clarification. They have the originals.
