Is there actually a number in the wages, salaries, tips, etc... but not one under total income?? Considering the total income tally includes 'wages, salaries, tips, etc', and a whole list of other income possibilities, it's surprising you could have one number but not a total. (1040 transcripts)

However, on the 1040EZ, the total income we used was the total in the income section but we had to add it up ourselves and it included the 'wages, salaries, tips, etc' value plus a' taxable interest income' value

And yes, there are no numbered lines and it took us awhile to figure out what to use, but once we did, it seemed more obvious.

Yes, there is an amount in the "Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc". It's the first line under "Income". "Total Income" shows "$0.00". :huh2:

I believe it's because my partner works outside of the US, and he doesn't pay any US income tax because of the tax treaty (he pays his income tax in Canada). :star:

Are there any petitioners who work outside of the US here? My partner can't be the only one, eh? I hope!

anyone able to pay IV bill.....I have been waiting for two weeks now and still can't pay IV bill....what is going with NVC???

I think I might be able to shed some light to your question.

I called NVC this morning because for some reason after we received case comeplete and IL all of a sudden our AOS fee shows as rejected on ceac.

I didn't catch the customer rep's name, but once I told him the problem, he said interesting and put my hold. Came back to tell me that everything is fine, AOS is paid and I shouldn't worry.

Then he said, that they have been having problems with their website AND their payment system ever since the launch of the new website.

It could be why people are waiting so long to be able to pay their fees.

A couple of questions re Marriage Certificates:

1) I have two certificates with dates of marriage that are six months apart, one from Colorado and one from Kuwait (to the same girl, so no wise jokes). Does it matter which one to include in the IV package? The Colorado certificate is the earlier one, but all my other civil documents are from Kuwait.

2) I have the long-form sheet (license on top and certificate on bottom) and the short-form (certificate only) issued from Colorado. Is either acceptable for NVC? I would hate to lose the long-form as I think it's irreplaceable.

My income for 2012 was a NEGATIVE number because I lost money in the stock market. So yes, it can definitely be 0 or negative. :)

---

Here's my instructions for my esposo to call today. It's the first time he's calling. I think we all know the process too well when we can write step by step instructions like this::

1. Call NVC over and over until they pick up, click 2 for Spanish

2. Wait about 15-30 min on hold
3. They answer and ask for case number, beneficiary name and date of birth, and petitioner name
-- case number: **************
-- beneficiary is YOU-
-- petitioner is ME-
4. Then they confirm phone numbers and emails, just say "yes"
5. Then they say "how can I help you?" You say "Was the mail received on May 6 reviewed yet?"
Two answers-
"no, please wait 30 days for review." If they say this then ask "can you tell me if my case is currently being reviewed by an agent?"
OR
"yes" If it HAS been reviewed ask if there is ANOTHER checklist or if we have "case complete". Case complete is GOOD. If there is another checklist, ask what it is for.
Call at 12pm and write me an email to tell me what they say!
Love you!!!

for the marriage certificate, remember in form I-130 they asked you for date of current marriage.

Make sure you send the certificate that matches that date. You don't want to provide "conflicting information". The idiots reviewing the docs will make a big deal of it and it will take ages to fix it.

So make sure all the dates provided match
