See what NVC made of us to ponder such matters?

Soon I'll start pondering what the NVC reps drank that morning from the color of the checklist letter they send me. Mental note to myself: start wearing surgical gloves for opening mail I if plummet to this level, not all stains are caused by coffee spills.

Well this NVC checklist paperwork is turning into a nightmare. My wife and I have spent the last 2 weeks in middle of nowhere Finland. We have had no Internet service. We drove back to Helsinki and I call my mom in the US. We have gotten a letter from NVC but no emails. It's saying that several papers of our last corrected checklist is missing. They had received our papers almost a month before it was scanned into our file, so they have lost them. I had my mom print all the papers over and send it to NVC. It's a good thing I put the files in an easy place to find on the computer. Mom sent it by overnight express. Our 3rd set of corrected paperwork is there now. I am going to use viber to call NVC tomorrow and explain what has happened to us. Will see if I can get a supervisor review. We have been fighting with this since April. Hopefully we can get a July interview.

Hi! Sorry I'm not sure if this question was asked and answered before but does NVC wait for the checklist response before they look into the IV supporting documents?

For example, AOS and IV packet were sent and received on different days. A checklist was received for AOS before the IV packet was reviewed. Will they go ahead and review the IV packet even if the response for checklist is not yet received? Or they will wait for the response before they review the IV packet?

If you have a lawyer, I thought you would get to pay the IV fee quickly since you don't need to fill out the DS-261 form?

That is correct. However we hadn't signed an Engagement letter for the NVC stage when we submitted our I-130 so they didn't have a lawyer on there then. We are using one now and they are brilliant.

Does this mean they've accepted the IV package, but are still waiting for the AOS package? (which they have not received yet as it hasn't been sent...). I would assume so, but should we call and confirm?

We received same - 06/03 after the AOS checklist, and i think yes, this is after the IV documents review.

If so, I'll stop checking https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ since I feel silly checking it everyday to see if I can pay the IV fee.

Yes you will receive an email. We got one yesterday morning and it was available to pay. Hubby paid yesterday, today showed paid plus DS-260 was available. Very surprised that something had gone quick for once!!!

ok so I called NVC yesterday to know if they have received my file and someone by the name of Daren picked up and wouldn't tell me!!!!I cant believe it on the line for an hour and after that nothing.he just kept saying allow 4 weeks and I kept saying I dont want a case number ,I just want to know if u have received my file?again kept saying allow....

Hey I have asked this question before but just making sure again. Husband was employed from June 2013 and income above the poverty guidelines. But he didn't file taxes before that because they have a family business so he wasn't employed he just used to help out. So if we send just 2013 taxes would we need a joint sponsor or should we be ok? Problem is his taxes started going from June.

You only have to submit 2013 taxes, so it's ok if that's all you have. But since it wasn't for a complete year, multiply the weekly wage by 50 (2 weeks holiday?) and submit a couple of pay stubs or whatever, as evidence of current income.

STOP! These words are what my nightmares are made of. Ha ha ha! The very first time I called (and had no idea what I was in for) I told my husband "this is why people go postal! They keep saying help is a moment away, but you are on hold for 45 minutes" It's just a lie. I would prefer if they had one of those messages that say "You are number 5,559 in the queue" and be honest about it. lol

I was on hold with air canada today and at the beginning of the hold it said "current hold time is 35-55 minutes." At least I had a vague idea of what I was in for! Way better! Plus when I finally got on with a rep, she was nice! Almost makes me hate them less (although I always fly westjet if the prices are anywhere near the same!)

Their mean idiots, they must laugh after we get off the phone with them.

Again I seem to be confused, I sent the last document to the Embassy in Cairo to be confirmed if it's good to go or it needs something worked for all documents except the Military one the idiot at the Cairo Embassy said to send it as is that it is up to NVC not them. I don't think this is true, what do you guys think? It boggles the mind!
