Timeline

My docs have always said N/A ever since they changed the site.

Agent Sarah just picked up. She says the documents are under review and I need to give it 30 days bla bla bla. Then she said I need to wait 30 days from May 16th. I asked again about my May 7th documents, she said they're currently being reviewed. I explained that I was told that on May 23rd only to find out last week they haven't been reviewed. She said I need to wait for e-mail notification. I asked does this mean I'm getting a checklist. She said she didn't know. So I asked what day they're working on, she said she has no access to that and I need to wait 30 days. I said if it's currently being reviewed, how long does it take once an officer touches the file. She said 30 days.

I think I was talking to a robot.

I give up. Looking "forward" to joing the August interview thread.

Noo Dont give up! I have the same timeline as you. May8th AOS and 15th IV. I'm hoping for a case complete by 7 or 8th. (Edit.. that's sat/sun... Let's just say 9th of June)

I saw someone getting an approval from May 7th so hang in there. We are about 7-8 days away.

I'm not calling NVC in the day time anymore, the night agents are so much nicer and willing to engage in my opinion. With the exception of Abby, every other day agent speaks to me like I'm bothering them. I wasn't aware I was calling their house! -_-

I'm not in a good place at the moment, and my thinking is becoming more irrational as the time progresses and I don't want to drag this thread down (especially since it's the beginning of the month).

What a welcome back! It's like coming from a dream vacation only to find your home flooded from a broken pipe that burst before you reached the airport. :ranting:

By the way, I'm one day a head of you and still no activated forms or invoices yet, so you're not missing much.

Welcome back by the way... You were missed.

Haha. It was my first time talking to Joy since I usually call NVC at night. I thought I was talking with someone bitchy, but I didn't know who she was. :huh2: I asked her name at the end of the conversation; then, I found out I was talking with Joy. Things what other people were saying about Joy made sense to me.

I'm waiting for an email asking me to fill out DS-261 and the AOS Fee. I found out my case number was created on May 23 so it's been 10 days. :wow: Waldo said I would receive the email sometime this week. :clock:

I thought I was taking a vacation too long and having my case delayed while on vacation. I was wrong! I didn't know NVC was THAT slow! :wow:

I think they have a staff meeting every morning and agree on a date to use, someone forgot to update the calendar LOL

Someone with a May 7th document was approved on Saturday!

I'm glad you got someone nice! I've never talked to Bruce. I'm sticking with the night shifft, though lol

I don't think they are even that organized. They probably get an email notification of what is going on. That would explain the inconsistancies. Some read it and others don't.

Bruce was much more than just nice. He was great !! I was all ready to have it out with Joy. HEE HEE

I'll call back tonight or maybe even 6pm. It depends on how long I can hold back ..

I was out of town due to visiting friends and family for two weeks. I just came back today!

[...]

Welcome back!

Hi guys, just thought I would write in to say that it appears they are working overtime. I called NVC this morning and the lady said my case was complete as of 31 May (Saturday) (my last package was scanned in on 7 May).

[...]

Congrats on the CC!!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

My partner's tax transcript doesn't show any line numbers. :huh2:

I guess I'm using the amount at "Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc" at Income. :star:

Please tell me if it's No! No! No! No! That's NOT correct!

Well, my partner's tax transcript shows "$0" at "Total Income" under "Income".

I believe it's because he works outside of the US (the US and Canada have a tax treaty) so his income wasn't taxable in the US since he paid his income tax in Canada. I'll need to use the amount at "Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc" under "Income". I hope it's okay. Fingers crossed!

Is there actually a number in the wages, salaries, tips, etc... but not one under total income?? Considering the total income tally includes 'wages, salaries, tips, etc', and a whole list of other income possibilities, it's surprising you could have one number but not a total. (1040 transcripts)

However, on the 1040EZ, the total income we used was the total in the income section but we had to add it up ourselves and it included the 'wages, salaries, tips, etc' value plus a' taxable interest income' value

And yes, there are no numbered lines and it took us awhile to figure out what to use, but once we did, it seemed more obvious.

I know what you mean! I was starting to lose my mind so I decided to take a vacation!

Hi everyone. Another morning, another sign-on to the forms and payment portal to see if we can move forward. Nope. Well, it's early in the week.

I wrote last month about the trouble we were going to have getting my husband's Colombian military records. Poster agbcha wrote me a wonderful response about the need to show true hardship in attaining a document to have the requirement waived by a supervisor. agbcha even sent me a PM to make sure I saw the post. Well fortunately, that very day, my in-laws spoke to someone else in the military who is willing to produce the authentic military carnet for the low low price of U.S. $2500 (ugh, but at least it's much less than what we were told before), and my husband will not have to fly to Colombia to sign any papers, which means he won't have to lose his job. It shouldn't take more than 25 days to produce, either (knock on wood).

So while we are thrilled to be getting that done, I am stressed hoping everything goes smoothly. Already my father in law has had to ask a friend in Bogotá to go to the notary's office to get another copy of our marriage certificate to send to Barranquilla for the military. It's hard for us to get all our papers/forms together quickly. We're in Argentina, we need stuff from different parts of Colombia as well as here, and my parents are going to send everything from the U.S. so we have to Fedex what we have to them first. Our joint sponsor, of course, is in the U.S. as well. I wish I would have studied the NVC stuff when were were still in Colombia, but we were already so overwhelmed putting the I-130 together, you know? Oh well, we'll get it done. Little by little...

USCIS (Priority date April 1, Approval April 17, no RFEs)

March 28, 2014: I-130 sent via FedEx from Bogotá to Chicago Lockbox

April 17, 2014: Changed mailing address with USCIS Tier 2 representative. He also confirmed that our case had arrived to the CSC and that our NOA1 date is April 3.

April 18, 2014: NOA2 e-mail received at 12:30 a.m. Case status online changed to post-decision activity; date of "last updated" changed to April 17. Change of address e-mail received at 3 a.m. Status changed back to initial review on e-mail and online. Date of "last updated" now April 18. Called and spoke to two Tier 2 reps; both were useless.

April 21, 2014: Approval confirmed verbally by Tier 2 rep. Order put in to send second NOA2 hard copy to new address. Instructed to ignore online case status.

I know what you mean! I was starting to lose my mind so I decided to take a vacation!

It was so difficult for me to just wait for a case number and do nothing! :clock:

Now I feel so much better and am ready to take on the NVC process! :star:

Maybe you can take a vacation while waiting?

The idea of a vacay sounds great (as lord knows I need one!), but I'm in the last mile of the marathon LOL As soon as we get the coveted case complete, I'm taking a break until interview!
