Congrats, it's good to see that there is progress here now. It seems like if we got our case numbers 2 weeks before we would never have this IV problem.

After waiting for 10 months for an approval I'm happy with any movement :))) Inshalla you'll see some movement sooooon!

Guess we just need to wait. Seems a lot of people received the invoice so I guess they need to load them all into the system.

I just got a 2nd checklist... more specifically, the SAME EXACT checklist I got last time, (May 9th) asking for a letter of employment for myself, and my co-sponsor's birth certificate that I forgot to send in the original AOS package. (oops!)

I UPS overnighted both of these off on May 12th and they were scanned into NVC's system on May 15th. Is this a false checklist or did they waste a month of my time reviewing nothing? Should I call them? The checklist email says "Do not submit your new Affidavit of Support to the NVC, as doing so will reopen your case and cause processing delays." But does not say anything about calling, I don't know if calling would cause issues. I don't know what to do. :(

Thank GOD they said my husband can bring the items to the interview but now I have to ask my boss for another letter of employment- which I really didn't want to do the first time around.

Guys, I spoke with Gus last night. He was really nice and upbeat. He told me that most NVC employees are working 16 hour shifts in addition to Saturdays. He said they are working hard to keep things on track however he has heard rumors now that it will take even longer for IV fees to be generated. Not sure what that meant.

it is taking longer to invoice the IV already, It has been almost a month for my wife and still can not pay!!!It use to take a few days and now is taking weeks for the IV, I have no idea what they are doing??

The reason for photocopies is so that they can return the originals/certified copies back at the time of an approved interview.

It states right on NVC's page to submit photocopies: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html (second paragraph)

I think it's so they'll have a full set of documents they can keep on file, in addition to the originals that they will return to you at the interview. I, too, think they should be able to make their own d@mn photocopies, but apparently they can't. Maybe you can put a post it on the original one, marked "original" if they look the same. Neither my birth certificate nor my marriage certificate are letter size paper, though, so it's obvious which one is the original.

So we should attach a photocopy because they may not have access to a photocopier? :wow:

I guess they can't afford to buy a photocopier even though we pay the AOS and IV fees. Haha.

Now I feel bad for NVC. They should allow me to pay the IV fee now since they desperately need it!

It kind of make sense to already have the photocopy already in the package. Could you imagine them going back and forth to make copies of the forms, and then completing the packages? Things would never get done there!
