Congrats to all who received good new today so far!!!

As for me, I received an email from NVC too. The response to the request to change my mom's agency I made on May 19...

I new they changed the embassy the next day of the request, but the email came just now...

Yes. Your case number will begin with a three letter code that designates your embassy/consulate. I'm sure there's another source for this information but the first place I found it is here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit.html Scroll down to the middle of the page and there's a drop down list that identifies all embassies and consulates by their code.

She said they are currently working on 13th-16th, but I think different reveiwers have different batches.

My case was actually completed yesterday, on June 9th but because I am in Australia, I wasn't able to call until tonight (June 10th) obviously.

Yes, I totally think you are right about the batches. It only makes sense. But, another thing I thought of, I had my IV AND AoS in the SAME envelope. So I know that they separate them but they were received at the exact same time, maybe that gave me a quicker CC?

I still think they all just go and grab a pile and some are faster than others. It's like any work place at the end of the day. They may all start the day with the same date, and some finish and move to the next day, and others do not.

Congratulations! Wow the 15th!? Did they say when they were working on it? We called last night for the AOS package they received on the 13th and they said it hasn't been reviewed yet..

I called this morning, documents were scanned on the 13th as well. still waiting. I guess the officer that might be reviewing our cases is on a LONGGGG vacation

For my in-laws', we put IV and AOS in the same packet as well. Hopefully we will hear something by COB. As of this morning, documents have not been reviews yet (scanned on the 13th).

The petitioner always, always, always has to file an I-864, you are the one who petitioned for him. Therefore you are 1.A.. You can't get out of sponsoring for him, even if you don't make the poverty threshold. You will need to file an I-864 for yourself as well, if not they will checklist you for that!

Are you living with your parents? If so I would think they would just need to fill out an I-864A? I'm not too sure on this, maybe someone else will be able to confirm this.

Yes mine is filled out and ready to go, finished my mothers and now my fathers is done. One last question promise.

On part 6 am I correct that 5 and 6c should be the same amount?

Yes living with my parents and Saylin told me both my father and I had to fill out the I-864 and my mother would be the co-sponsor and file the I-864a which I did for her.

Just got off the phone with NVC, the lady Nikki is so not professional. I asked her about the status of my case and all she said " we received on such day and it 30days to review" the usual line. I then pressed to know which paackage they have, she refused to let me know. I already know which packages i sent and date received. My AOS was May 15 and IV on May 27.

It just amaze me how one operator tell you some and another will totally be inconsistant. SMH

I've seen the recommendation that the I-864A be used when "household member" applies to tax filings as well, not just sharing the same residence The I-864A is to add one's income to another sponsoring household member. So for instance, Soloenta has to file the I-864 as the sponsor/petitioner. Then Parent #1 will file an I-864 as well. If Parent #2's income is also needed to meet the threshold, Parent #2 can submit the I-864A.

I think they're using the assets though, not the income. I wasn't going to give advice I wasn't sure of! . Thanks for the clarification!

Did the NVC skip May 13th mail or something? . Packages have not been REVIEWED yet. So much for that OT and getting rid of that backlog NVC.
