Congratulations! Wow the 15th!? Did they say when they were working on it? We called last night for the AOS package they received on the 13th and they said it hasn't been reviewed yet..

You will be checking the 1A because your the petitioner, your father will be checking the joint sponsor box. If you are doing two joint sponsors then it needs to be 1.E. or if he's the only joint sponsor then it needs to be 1.D.

I hope I didn't confuse you on that part!

But isn't the 1a. the Petitioner? What the wiki says is that I have to be the sponsor since I filed for my husband etc. So I have to file the I-864 and so does my father he is the main joint sponsor and my mother files the I-864a.

So Part one 1a is for the Petitioner and my father would not be checking that one am I wrong? :wacko::unsure::wacko:

thanks dear for your quick response... i have a question.. should i send the cover sheet i got when i was submitting ds-261....... i don't know which coversheet should i send along with IV package plz....i didn't got any coversheet when i submitted the IV fees... only i got ( Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee Bill Invoice) on email.. i got this invoice before i paid the IV fees........so i m confuse....

Your suppose to get an IV bar-code sheet that looks like this:

Don't send your IV package without it! It will cause delays! If you go to the receipt page of where you paid it, it might have the cover sheet there, if it's not available yet, you'll have to wait until it is!

The petitioner always, always, always has to file an I-864, you are the one who petitioned for him. Therefore you are 1.A.. You can't get out of sponsoring for him, even if you don't make the poverty threshold. You will need to file an I-864 for yourself as well, if not they will checklist you for that! ;)

Are you living with your parents? If so I would think they would just need to fill out an I-864A? I'm not too sure on this, maybe someone else will be able to confirm this.

The petitioner always, always, always has to file an I-864, you are the one who petitioned for him. Therefore you are 1.A.. You can't get out of sponsoring for him, even if you don't make the poverty threshold. You will need to file an I-864 for yourself as well, if not they will checklist you for that! ;)

Are you living with your parents? If so I would think they would just need to fill out an I-864A? I'm not too sure on this, maybe someone else will be able to confirm this.

I've seen the recommendation that the I-864A be used when "household member" applies to tax filings as well, not just sharing the same residence :unsure: The I-864A is to add one's income to another sponsoring household member. So for instance, Soloenta has to file the I-864 as the sponsor/petitioner. Then Parent #1 will file an I-864 as well. If Parent #2's income is also needed to meet the threshold, Parent #2 can submit the I-864A.
