I called NVC at 7am (EST) and waited for 40 minutes to talk to Joy! Lucky me!

Joy gave me my case number, but she refused to give me the IIN. :wow:

She was pretty bitchy on the phone, but I wasn't surprised a bit (since I heard about her on this thread) so I managed to keep my cool!

I'm calling them back again now to get the IIN. I hope to talk to anyone but Joy! LOL :clock:

OK, alot of people answered this incorrectly...

If the 1040 was filed, you have to use LINE 22 ( TOTAL INCOME) if you use any other number they will check list you.

You said you filed the 1040... LINE 22 from the 1040 is the number you have to use..... check and double check.... GOOD LUCK !!!!!

Thank you and others who stepped in with the right information... I was lying in bed this morning reading through my notification emails, saw the post where someone stated the I-864EZ requires adjusted gross, and literally said aloud "No! NO!!" This issue is covered so often in this thread, there's no reason for anyone to use the wrong number!

Ok, it's the first full week after the holiday. NVC ought to be fully staffed again and they better start cranking out good news. Good luck everyone!!

Make sure you're asking for the invoice identification number, don't call it the IIN -- they won't make the connection ;) Good luck!

On hold for 35 minutes, she doesn't remember who she talked to, but she said she wasn't a morning person!

The lady did say they were working overtime to get things reviewed in a "timely manner", and my wife did ask what day they were working on, and she said that information isn't available to them!

None of our packages have been reviewed either :(.

Hello All...

I recently received a checklist from NVC stating that they needed the beneficiaries Birth Certificate.....I called them up today and spoke to a representative about it....I told her that per their website travel.state.gov and under my country's civil documents it is allowed to substitute a BC for a individual record sheet and that i had attached an original copy of that and also that i mentioned it on my cover letter (goes to show you that they dont even read that :( )

She said that I am correct and as long as I have attached an original individual record sheet that I should be fine and that she will have someone look into it from the revision department....

is this gonna be like a 1 week thing or more like a month thing....has anything like this ever happen to anyone ...

Thanks

Pls saylin is it okay if I take evidence of filing tax extension for 2013 to the interview?,since we filed extension till September, is it going to delay the visa?

That should be sent in with the AOS package. But, if you've already sent that in, yes bring proof of extension to the interview because if you don't, you'll be put into AP for missing documentation as 2013 taxes are required.

I guess you can wear your wigs on Fridays at work, maybe?

Many people wear casual clothes (and wigs?) at work on Fridays so it should be okay.

Well, we do have casual Friday, just not sure if it's THAT casual

[...]

It's a little sad that has to even be discussed here as it states right on that question, on the form, EXACTLY what number to use. Still baffles me how people are confused as which number to use as it is RIGHT THERE

Hi guys, just thought I would write in to say that it appears they are working overtime. I called NVC this morning and the lady said my case was complete as of 31 May (Saturday) (my last package was scanned in on 7 May). When I called on Friday evening (after 5pm) they said they had not reviewed my last package yet, so they really must have been working outside normal business hours.

Also, I really think that the AOS payment thing changes from Paid to N/A on the CEAC portal when your case is completed. I checked the portal on Saturday night and noticed that it had strangely changed to N/A, whereas previously I am sure it was showing as Paid. Either the change to N/A means case complete, or it might mean that your AOS has been accepted, I can't confirm either way because I didn't check between AOS acceptance and case complete.

Just in case anyone wants info to compare time line:

My AOs package was scanned in on 6 May (I believe, although they told me it was scanned in on 2 May which was the same day it was received which is very unlikely).

My IV documents were scanned in on 7 May.

Got false checklist email on 29 May. When I called after 5 pm on the 28th they told me they had not reviewed anything yet.

If anyone from Queensland is reading this, I did not send any police certificate to NvC, I just sent them a copy of the page from the consulate saying that the police certificate will be sent directly to the consulate. Apparently it worked.

:-)

If the transcript is for a 1040EZ:

Under "Adjustments to Income," use the Adjusted Gross Income figure.

If the transcript is for a 1040:

Under "Income" use the Total Income figure.

Well, my partner's tax transcript shows "$0" at "Total Income" under "Income".

I believe it's because he works outside of the US (the US and Canada have a tax treaty) so his income wasn't taxable in the US since he paid his income tax in Canada. I'll need to use the amount at "Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc" under "Income". I hope it's okay. Fingers crossed!
