I'm in Atlantic City with my oldest daughter just tying to keep my mind off immigration for a couple days. I hope they start giving us our interviews. This waiting is for the birds. Why can't they assign the interview automatically when they complete the case? Wouldn't that make sense?

Anyway... back to work tomorrow and back to calling the NVC. I hate both!!

Does anyone know how to save the forms so if we get a checklist we don't have to fill it out again. The BullZip suggested is full of malware.

I just called. They said they are reviewing my May 15th IV documents. They also said that they wont accept my "certified true copy" marriage and birth certificates. Sigh

I really dont want to send the original documents.

He said that they need to be from "the State Registrar General of Births, and Marriages" and then he told me to read http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/IN.html

I told him that I have a true copy with notary stamp. and he said "nope, that wont work"

I posted a question about my AOS package today, and only one person was kind enough to answered it. So I posted the same question on the I-130 Facebook group and got good replies.

Well, I don't take it personal. I know everyone is excited to hear good news on Mondays so things get lost and it gets difficult to reply to other people's messages.

I know, I'm just so scared right now gathered all the documents finally had to wait for some and am now just going to file the AOS. Thought it best to wait until I had everything I needed. Just so frightened to make a mistake and to be honest don't feel so comfortable asking questions anymore.

a true copy = a certified copy as far as i know. you probably don't need that notary stamp since the true copy came from the registrar

There is a stamp on the marriage certificate from "Vadodara mahanagar seva sadan - health dept". Then there is a stamp from the sub registrar of marriages with a signature. Wify made a copy of it and got a lawyer to notarize it with a notary stamp and a try copy stamp.

The title says "government of gujarat - copy of certificate of registration of marraige"

So a true copy in india consists of a "true copy stamp" and a notary stamp as far as I know. If i made a duplicate copy of the original, they wont take it as the original. A true copy (in india atleast) has a "true copy" stamp

By the way, the government stamps on the true copy are also from the original. the only "real" stamps on the copy are of the notary and true copy stamp.

Damn i officially dislike nvc more than uscis

Nvc is like your so close you could smell it but then they just pull you right back

Just for a checklist thats another month of waiting when clearly it states it should take 20 days to review your documents
