Thank you for replying LoveMyTico! I really appreciate it!

I'm not sure if you're the one who answered it

before but should the total income be the one written on the I-864EZ form (question 19) or should it be the adjusted gross income?

Thank you so much! :)

For EZ you use adjusted gross income, that was what I used, my AOS was approved without any checklist.

If the petitioner filed the 1040EZ for taxes, then the adjusted gross income is used. The income figure used is not based on which AOS form you file.

Any advice on when/how to best get through to the NVC hotline? My wife has tried calling them numerous times last week, but never even makes it into the waiting queue. Are the off-peak hours they list indeed any better or do you just have to be persistent? I'm still waiting for the EP confirmation, and it's been almost a month now :-/

You do not have to wait for the ENROLL confirmation any longer. Send away.

Our I130 approval was May 29th, so I'll follow this thread. Lawyer says 30 days to get a case number from NVC - is this the case, or can I call earlier and get one from them??

Lawyer has all the documents ready for NVC except for my police clearance certificate, which I will go and get tomorrow. (apparently only takes a couple of days, according to local RCMP office).

Glad this long and very stressful stage of the process is done with!

Peace all.

(also, can someone tell me how to get my font and emoticon options back? They're all greyed out?)

:)

It still appears to be taking nearly 30 days for the case number, but you can absolutely try calling sooner in the hopes they have one ready.

Thank you for replying LoveMyTico! I really appreciate it!

I'm not sure if you're the one who answered it before but should the total income be the one written on the I-864EZ form (question 19) or should it be the adjusted gross income?

Thank you so much! :)

Form i1864 requires total income whereas i1864ez requires adjusted gross income

Be SURE to read the instructions for the form found on the USCIS website!

If taxes are filed with a 1040 or 1040A, use gross/total income, but if taxes are filed with a 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income.

As BOS_LHR stated, it is NOT dependent on the AOS form you are filing, it is dependent on the tax forms you filed. If using 3 years of taxes and only one year is with the 1040EZ, use the adjusted gross income just for that year, and total income for the others.
