Any advice on when/how to best get through to the NVC hotline? My wife has tried calling them numerous times last week, but never even makes it into the waiting queue. Are the off-peak hours they list indeed any better or do you just have to be persistent? I'm still waiting for the EP confirmation, and it's been almost a month now :-/

Last month, somebody mentioned that the NVC customer service rep they'd talked to said that we didn't need to wait for the confirmation anymore... just go ahead and send everything in as set out in Saylin's Montreal wiki. I figure it's worth a shot, and that's what I plan to do once we have the last couple documents for our AOS package.

I haven't noticed very much difference in how long it takes to get through at any particular time (although since I'm on the West Coast I've never tried to get up at 4am PST to call the moment they open) - I usually have to "redial" between 5-15 times and then wait on hold for 25-45 minutes tp speak to a rep.

Thanks for the advice! I just resent the OPTIN email once more, just to be sure, and will probably go ahead and just submit the docs next week. You're right, can't do much harm, can it...

So i paid the AOS fee and got a barcoded confirmation page show up. I believe thats not the COVER Page the NVC wiki is talking about. Am i correct? When I log in I see a tab to print cover page, after i click that the payment link opens where I click "select" nothing happens.. This is probably because the payment is still under process?

Just for clarity, it's the ENROLL email :P They stopped calling it the OPTIN mail at some point ? a few months back.

You should be able to print (and/or email if you wish) the bar-coded cover sheet right after paying, at least we could. And the other cover page the wiki refers to is like an index of all the included documentation. The bar-coded one goes right on top of it all :)

HI everyone, we found out that we got a checklist for our AOS through a phone call with NVC.

My question is, can we submit the revised I-864 form using the previous barcoded cover sheet or should we wait for the email?

Thank you very much!

Our I130 approval was May 29th, so I'll follow this thread. Lawyer says 30 days to get a case number from NVC - is this the case, or can I call earlier and get one from them??

Lawyer has all the documents ready for NVC except for my police clearance certificate, which I will go and get tomorrow. (apparently only takes a couple of days, according to local RCMP office).

Glad this long and very stressful stage of the process is done with!

Peace all.

(also, can someone tell me how to get my font and emoticon options back? They're all greyed out?)

Thank you for replying LoveMyTico! I really appreciate it!

I'm not sure if you're the one who answered it before but should the total income be the one written on the I-864EZ form (question 19) or should it be the adjusted gross income?

Thank you so much! :)

Happy June everyone!

My husband's case has been at NVC for a few weeks now, and I've filled out the 261, and am waiting for the IV bill to become payable... I have a question relating to the paperwork I am trying to get ready for the IV packet:

I told my husband last year that we would need to get police certificates, so he went to a friend who is a police officer, and who issued him something called a "constancia de verificación de ciudadano" which apparently is what is used within Venezuela-- But I had been looking at websites, including VJ, and knew that there is something that the Venezuelan government issues for foreign use (certificado de antecedentes penales) which seems to be what the state department expects to see... So I have been trying to request them online, but the website doesn't seem to work hardly at all, although one person on VJ told me she had successfully requested them there... even if it works, my husband will have to go to Caracas to pick the papers up, which is possible but a bit of a headache...

So I have been posting about this in the IR-1/CR1 forum, and another user told me that in his/her opinion it maybe isn't necessary, that s/he is going off information listed on the state dept's website about what the embassy requires, and the Caracas embassy (where this person was looking) doesn't mention police certificates.

So now I am getting very confused-- Can anyone out there shed some light? Are police certificates required for all countries at the NVC stage? If so, do we need the ones from Caracas, or will the local ones do? Does anyone have helpful tips for getting the website to work?

The record police valid to Venezuela is " certificado the antecedentes penales" .You need one for all the country that you husband has lived for more than 6 months.

Thanks so much for your thoughts!
