Yup! there is nothing i can do so might as well just send a new form in and stop bitching. I've been waiting a year already, whats a week more :).

It's stupid that they aren't making a change to their process if they keep seeing this everyday.

My husband always asks "did you read that on an official government site or those damned forums?" when I tell him to do something different, like putting N/A despite the instructions saying otherwise. He's slowly but surely coming round to the idea that the people in "those damned forums" have more experience and knowledge that any of the government staff, websites and filing instructions!

Your so selfish, if they squeeze you in and make it 6 for the day they wont be able to have their three hour lunch with a nap afterwards. Have you no sense of priorities?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: (had to cut back, apparently I had an emoticon overdose!)

Nvc received our package last may 30, but until now it's not yet scanned in their system, is that normal?

It's not normal for the NVC, but it seems that nothing in the NVC is normal at the moment.

I think the July 2013 thread can be closed now!

I really hope so, it would be very disappointing (and disheartening) to read of people still hanging around waiting on their NOA2's from July (or earlier). Especially when we have February 2014 filers joining this thread recently

Mz Agent Tori (with a lovely Boston accent - I miss life on the east coast!) says my May 16th packet has not been reviewed yet. She was pleasant, but I rattled off all the info she needed as soon as she answered, so maybe she appreciated not having to ask me all those questions lol

She asked if my husband completed the DS-260, which he did on the 14th, so do they "approve" the DS-260 before the IV?

5/21/2016: Mailed I-751 packet to CSC

WOW :wow: WOW :wow: WOW, I hope everyone who calls the NVC gets a chance to speak with Todd. What an amazing Operator. SUPER helpful and he took the time to listen and look at my case. When I told him how rude Joy and Arthur were to me he just laughed out loud. I guess he was sort of agreeing without actually saying it !!

SO, oddly enough, I explained what happened with the email I received with the someone else's personal information... he stated the same thing happened to another caller last week. He thought it was me but I never had the pleasure of speaking with Todd before. He looked back in the phone logs and confirmed that he NEVER spoke to me before. Kinda makes me wonder who is responding to the emails.. #######???

He said San Jose is not a common embassy. I am like one of two calls he has taken for that embassy in a long while....and that I should have no problem getting an interview!! YAY !

Also confirmed that interviews are scheduled electronically. There isn't one person who sits there and schedules each one individually.. I was joking with him and told him to go give the scheduler $5 from me. He said that department is in another building... ......and guys... Todd can take a joke.. Such a nice guy !

So my status is STILL WAITING !!!!! but at least I had a really good experience with the operator this morning.

Now the question is: Do they select cases according to the Case Complete date or according to the Priority date (time we filed the I-30)?

Does anyone knows?

It's neither of those.... They have a very thought out, well planned and thorough process:

First they take all the files which are case complete and are awaiting interview scheduling. They take them to top level of the office block, stand in the stairwell, then drop all the files at once. They then go down the stairs 1 level at a time and as they find a bar-code, they scan it. They keep doing this until they reach the 1st floor and this gives them the order in which files will be scheduled interviews.

Stage 2 involves assigning an actual appointment. What they do now is have a yearly planner on the wall They work though the cases in their newly found order and fire darts at the yearly planner. Whatever date the dart lands on is the date you get the interview.

Maybe this should be added to the wiki?

I got excited when I read NVC was working on 15th already so I called right away.

I talked to Maria (spanish operator) and she told me our IV package that was received on the 13th hasn't been reviewed. When I asked her on what day they were working on right now she told me it's internal information she can't give me.

I just hate talking to spanish operators. I don't know if it's my accent they don't understand or what but they're always so short with words. You can't never get any helpful information from them!

Anyway, I guess I'm calling again tonight. :bonk:

Very similar to the system used for evaluating engineering professors at the University of Colorado at Boulder (at least in my time):

At the end of the year, volunteer students fill balloons with water, each with a professor's name written on it. They take them to a high window in the engineering tower overlooking a paved yard around which a huge crowd of students are waiting to cheer while balloons are announced and thrown from the window. Some professor's heads (I mean balloons) get a lot more cheers than others.

Haha you made me laugh out loud in my office!!! Thanks! This is exactly how I think it truly happens. I still believe that the passport copy they misplaced, it's because it fell off the desk and they were too lazy to pick it up, so they issued a checklist as it looks easier!

We, the Paris Embassy goers, should start our own group :P

We might end up just join together for the interview, there is a high chance of being on the same day, and it would be nice have someone to chat while waiting on the interview day.

About the backlog, from the moment that USCIS started to get backlogged it was only natural that NVC would become bombard.

[...]

Lol I was thinking that while waiting at the interview I will definitely look around to see if there are some VJ members! I will be the weirdo staring at people in the waiting area!

The Paris embassy like to take a lot of holidays...! I hope you hear something soon!

Oh my! Thanks I just realized next monday is a holiday!

Congrats, MsGoyave! You were very disciplined to wait a whole 24 hours before calling. Happy Birthday (one day late)!!! Since you and I were both May 9th "scanees", I was hoping we'd reach the finish line together. And we did!

I don't think Sydney is as backed up as Paris, though Australia only interviews IR-1/CR-1 folks on Tuesdays at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

No official CC letter or interview as yet.

Sukie

Thanks a lot Sukie! I was following your case very closely, and I promised myself not to call before you announced you had your CC!

The weird part is that I don't think there are many people waiting for the interview in Sydney or in Paris, so I thought it was going to be fast. Now that I looked at other people's timelines/signatures, it looks like it is totally random, the interview could be scheduled this week, or in 2/3 weeks, or in a month...

But hopefully it is soon over!!! I feel like you will get your interview date very soon Sukie!

Is NVC really busy or something???? My case was sent to NVC on May 27. I have received the case # and IIN by phone, but up to this point I have not yet received the invoice by email. Is there some kind of problem? Does this seem normal to you guys? I am really frustrated with this. I cannot believe it's been 10 months of this.

Thanks for any answer.

Islamabad embassy is one of the embassies that places most male candidates on AP irrespective of whether or not it's a mixed couple or not. We can only pray and hope! The whole system is extremely bureaucratic.

the IV is not ready yet for me either my hubby is stressing over paper work and I don't like it either,I have been upset knowing that after all this my hubby will get AP for a while. people talk about AP from Pakistan and mixed race and age, me and hubby are both about middle age we did not meet on a chat line was from family and we have been together from 2009 .. I get mad when I see we are a mixed race hubby is as white as me minus the tan from sun. when I see people getting mad about the time it's been a long one for us ISL did not let us use a sponsor in K1 what a headache that was.

So this is round 2 for us and over 2 years of waiting :crying: and when I think of AP I want to cry. I am glad my gov takes the time to check for nutters but my hubby comes from a good family. maybe I am thinking to far ahead but I am just so sick of all this.. as we all are.. you would think my case would go though faster cause we are in the system already not so grrrrrrrrrrr yes I need to vent, wishing the best for everyone
