That explains why he still has a US driver's license!

I'm sending our US domicile documents next Monday. According to my research on this issue, the most important factors demonstrating the US domicile or intention to return to the US are job and a place to live (buying or renting a property).

My partner (USC) is keeping his Canadian job and working from Seattle. We're including a letter from his employer stating it's okay to do so. We hired a real estate agent in Seattle because we're looking for a house to buy in Seattle. We're attaching a buyer's agency agreement form. ^_^

:-) yes!! Your list sounds good to me. :-)

Welcome happy to have you with us. :D(F) (L) (F)

Thank you. I have been reading all day about this part of the process and I think I might be more confused than when I start lol. Guess it will all make sense once I start seeing the things mentioned.

Rant: You seriously got a check list for not writing N/A on a line?! It says in the instructions to write "none" OR OR OR OR leave it blank. I just wrote a bitchy blog about these contradictions. Oye. So sorry this has happened to you :-(

Yayy... A new Blog post! Going to read it now...

 They are having a wine and cheese festival and they will be back as soon as it's over. :D:dance:

Seriously I think it might be a glitch of some kind, no way they aren't scheduling for July. Can call NVC or the Embassy to find out.

LOL. I think it's weird too!

Your so selfish, if they squeeze you in and make it 6 for the day they wont be able to have their three hour lunch with a nap afterwards. Have you no sense of priorities?

At first I thought you were serious about being selfish!! Then I realized you were just mocking them lol.

from what i interpreted from the interview file and sailyn's spreadsheet, usually the interview to the french embassy takes (or used to) between 10 to 15 days to set appointment but the apointment is always to the next month after case completed.

That is why i am keeping a bit of my coolness, but at the same time preparing myself mentaly for august in paris vacation :P

So fancy! Lol. I would prefer a July Paris vacation so in August we can finally be in our new home decorating and buying furniture and going poor lol.... Together at least.

I'm stumped with a DS-260 question that is forcing me to lie: "Have you ever served in the military?"

I did get basic training in the US and served in the US military during Desert Storm to liberate Kuwait. When I answer "Yes" and try to select the country name, USA is not included in the drop down menu!!!

I'm thinking of answering "No" then explain the issue in the cover letter and include an official affidavit issued to me from the US Embassy back in 1991.

Any better suggestions?

PS. Strangely enough, my wife has the same issue as well.

PPS. The DS-260 form did not ask for Beneficiary ID Number, contrary to the pdf sampler.

Hello MoBar65,

That question usually relates to serving in any other foreign military forces, so you might not be necessarily lying if you answer no. Perhaps in the same way that you don't need a police certificate if you lived in the US, you might not need to state that you served in the US military because they would already know from background checks.

Not saying I am correct, just trying to give other thinking points. You should definitely call NVC to see what they say. Also, you might want to obtain a copy of your DD-214 or any other discharge paperwork, just in case.

Good Luck!

Edit: Oops I missed the part about you having an affidavit from the embassy in 1991, so you're covered on that aspect.

So i knew I might get a checklist for the marriage certificate because I only had a scanned copy of it. So I had already asked my wife to send me a true copy which should be here any day now.

He birth certificate was a true copy so I'm not sure why they don't like it. I have a second true copy that I'm sending with a sticky note showing the true copy stamp seeping through the page. Hopefully that will be enough.

When I called at 5pm they only told me about the place of residence address issue on i864ez. I guess they checked my iv after that and found two more things.

Question. Do I send everything in one package with aos or should I sent two different packages one for iv documents (certificates) and one for aos?

Excellent point! Since they didn't list the US in the country drop-down menu, then they definitely meant foreign military service, and so answering No would not be lying. I can easily argue that with the CO if it comes up.

That and the statement/affidavit in the IV package should do.

The above surely beats an undocumented, and possibly guessed, opinion from an NVC rep.

Thanks!
