Hey can I ask, what's the point of tracking your package going from NVC to the embassy? Is there any point besides people just wanting to make a million percent sure there aren't any problems?

just for piece of mind knowing where the package is ! Some might want to change their interview appointment and they can't do that until the package is at the embassy. I have spent so my months not knowing the status of my file... I'll be tracking mine. The embassy told my husband it moves super fast once they get it.

Ah ok, thanks for your response! I'm not really worried, there's a month till my interview maybe at some point I'll track it for my peace of mind but for now I can't figure out how to do it even though there's the 'how to'. haha.

Yay! Good for you!

And hello to all on our 3rd NVC monthly thread... I'm not holding out too much hope on it being our last, after the screwup with our DS261 and no IV fee invoiced yet, and now this stupid backlog catching up with us again...

But with a great deal of luck, we may get through it pretty soon!

Good luck to all and congrats on all the case completes and interview dates that we got last night! So happy for all of you!

Hi

Is it "normal" for a delay in the invoicing for the Part IV?

YOU.,..,do a great job.,.,I have to ask, is your hair really blue? Sorry, NVC people, just had to ask.,..,.,

It was! I unfortunately had to dye it black as I moved to a new state, thus new job, and this job was business casual (compared to my last Target job). So, had to say goodbye to my beautiful blue hair :( But, I just bought 3 wigs on Amazon last night (blue, red, and purple), so I'm gonna have some fun on nights and weekends with them :)

Some people want piece of mind, others do it because you can't sign up for the package return until it's at the embassy or consulate. You can always check your CEAC status though and it will say if it's in transit or ready which is at the embassy or consulate. Tracking it is not precise obviously because they send everything in batches. You can't track your individual file.

The bolded part caught my eye NLR - do you mean we can't sign up for Loomis until it's at the consulate? I didn't realize/see that anywhere and was thinking of signing up as soon as I got my interview letter (even though I already know my date from calling and asking).

You may be able to, but I didn't because Montreal has NO idea about your file until it reaches them. I didn't want any issues. You can sign up for the loomis anytime up to the date of your interview as you need that print out to enter the consulate. (I think I treated the piece of paper like gold. LOL)

Some countries may be more strict though and not allow it at all. Not every country uses a courier service though and some make you go back to pick up the visa package.

DR is Document Review. CMR is Central Mail Room or something like that. I remember in another post someone talking about what CMR and DR stood for
