I called USCIS again and spoke to an agent. She said the Phoenix office has been processing applications from March 8th since August 31st. That seems strange. That is the same thing it says on USCIS site for processing times. Seriously? They have been processing applications from that one day for 2 months? I find that hard to believe. She told me to give it another 5-6 months and if I don't hear anything, to call back. Splendid.

It's unclear to me what they mean when they say that they are processing applications from March 8th.

Most people assume that this means that they haven't started working on applications submitted on March 9th. So if you submitted your application on April 9th, you're still one month away from having your application looked at.

I'm not sure that this is true. I think it's more likely that what they mean is that they haven't finished working on all the applications submitted on March 8th. This means that they've started on later applications submitted in March, April, May, etc., but for some reason, they are still working on a few applications from March 8th which have been held up.

So to be honest, I don't think that the processing times mean anything at all, because if my guess is right (and it's just a guess), you can submit your application in May and have it approved in September and if you call them the day after you're approved, they'll say that they're processing applications submitted on March 8th, because some poor guy or girl's application from March 8 is stuck in the process.

Copamom, have you looked in other month threads to see other applications with Phoenix as the field office and what are their status? It'd be good to know if this delay is particular to your case or generalized to your field office. If it seems it's just you, I'd make an infopass appointment.

Folks, I filed my N-400 in June 15, 2014 in Dallas Office, I did the fingerprint July 1 and I was in line since July 10, I received a yellow letter in August 31, and nothing is moving since then.

I called USCIS office but they are no help.

Could you update your timeline? The whole thing, so we have an idea about your case. Did you file based on marriage to USC (3 year rule)? When did you become an LPR? This information is extremely helpful when looking for advice here. :time:

CopaMom, I am not sure I understand. What do you mean 5-6 months? Are you talking about a N400 application? What is on March 8th? It shouldn't take that long and once you hit the processing time period you can do a service request.

Yes, N400. She said to wait ANOTHER 5-6 months from now and if I don't have my interview yet, to call back. My daughter and I did biometrics in early July. Nothing since then. March 8th is the date the USCIS says they are processing applications from. I applied 3 months after that. So in theory, I would have another 3 months.

Thanks - what you said makes sense. I honestly don't think calling in is all that helpful. She didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I looked up the processing times myself. So they don't have any way of finding out specific information to my case. Just generalized answers.

Yes, I have looked in the threads for Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May, July....

Unfortunately, it seems like no one else in Phoenix is on this message board, or they post in the beginning and never come back to update their info. I think I found one in all those months. If I recall, her timeline was "normal" (~5 months). I can't remember exactly what month she was from. :(

My daughter and I applied at the same time (she's an adult) and her application is stuck in limbo with mine. So it's not just mine.

What is an infopass appointment? I have heard people talk about that before, but wasn't sure what it was.

You got your interview letter 3 months after being placed inline. I have been inline almost 4 months now. :( Everyday I think... maybe today is the day! LOL Trying to be patient. I don't have travel plans until next summer (and we just drive to Mexico), so I have time. I would just like to get it done! :)

CopaMom, I still don't understand the March 8th date. They are most likely still working on cases from prior to that date that are pending so that date does not make sense to me. I guess she meant for the Phoenix office only but again this is almost 8 months ago and way beyond the processing times they show for that office. But anyway, your application was accepted on June 11th and Phoenix says 5.9 months for processing so theoretically by mid December it should be completed. I would not wait 5-6 more months. I would contact them again next month and try to do a Service Request. Call the 800# and try to talk to a Level 2 agent. They might tell you to wait until mid December but definitely not another 5-6 months from now. They are nice and friendly in my past experience!

As far as other Phoenix cases, there is a tracker on Trackitt that has some. Also, here's a link from that site that might be helpful to you. Others have called and got some results. http://www.trackitt.com/usa-discussion-forums/n400/1478625211/case-stucked-in-initial-review-for-2-months-gather-here/page/3

Good luck to you!
