I went into the room where the letter told me to go, check in there i handed the appointment letter and the officer ask for an I.D then he signed the letter then gave it back to me and told me to go where the interview room and there I check in again and give the letter to the lady in a little window and then wait for couple minutes then an officer call my full name..

First thing is she told me to stand up and take the oath that i'm gonna say is only the truth and then she started asking about me, ask about my grandma and my mom. She started making conversation about my work, what's happening on my life, i think she is testing me if i know how to speak and understand English?

Then she handed a paper told me to read the first one..I'm sorry forget about the details but I know that she was testing me on my reading.. then i read and then she mark the paper correct. Next is she handed a paper again and told me write we pay taxes. she mark the paper again correct.

then ask about the civic questions.

1. What is the freedom of religion?

2. When the constitution was written?

3. How many senators?

4. What is the ocean in the east coast?

I got the 6 questions correct, i just forget the other 2, I'm sorry guys

then she lastly asked about my N-400 not like about everything but briefly. Then she let me sign everything even the photos that I sent. I didn't know what's happening until she asked me if I can wait for an hour for oath taking and i was like yeah... and she said congratulations..

Then i wait for an hour or so, in the same room where everyone waits to be called, A lady officer calls my name and like 4 more people and there we take the oath of allegiance and after taking the oath she handed the certificate and there is a folder too that comes with a little book, a message from the president and a like a pamphlet that says what to do next.

If someone got some questions I'm glad to help..Goodluck to everyone.

I have read all the comments here and none is even close to the psychology of VISA application and what goes on and the mood of every immigration officer (IO) that handles every Adjustment of Status (AOS) or petition application case because in any moment the immigration policy changes. There is also national security factor involved, which is very important for the officer to consider. So in brief, backlog condition is unavoidable.

I have been waiting for my interview as well, but I consider the fact that there are many factors involved in the process, including people who fabricated their immigration papers to deceive the IO’s. This is an old trick.

When I read your comments here, I could not hold my breath knowing that your thinking of USCIS and its staff are bunch of incompetent individuals that would just give out welfare checks to everyone. You got to live in this country to understand the real issues here, and particularly the immigration issues.

There are now so many married petitions that have slipped in the USCIS eyes because of backlog cases. And the more they have backlogs, the more they are pressured to rush things up, and background checks are undermined. And the sad note is that these married couples that were able to trick the IO’s are now divorced. And these divorced couples have triggered the increase of the “divorce rate” in this country and it is scaring good and honest people to join or engaged into marriage business for that simple reason—“fear of another costly divorce process, if they have already established their marriage”—good people are victimized by these “fake marriages,” in general.

See, I am a victim myself. And know that It doesn’t matter which country you are from, USCIS will determine the rate of “fraud marriage” or rate of divorce base on couples ethnic background, I believe.

I tell you my short experience, “When I got my biometrics done for my interview, it took time for the USCIS to reply for the date of my interview, which was not normal that time. And so how much more these days that there are plenty of factors the USCIS to consider.

BUT this comment caught my attention and got me writing here:

Boston is right now busy processing files with march priority dates, and as of july 31 the average processing time for boston is 7.2 months. According to an IO i talked to over the phone past monday.

have u been in line for 2 months without receiving a yellow letter? The yellow letter is usually an indication of a near interview notice.

If the preceding comment is true, and this filer is bona fide as well, he (or she) is taking risk for his (or her) papers to be examined or scrutinized further. NEVER do or call USCIS to complain about your interview date, NEVER. This is the same as filing your taxes. This person is ignorant of the process, and again putting his or her application into the mind of the IO for suspicion. This was NOT a smart move.

Here is what you always remember in your heads about this country because these, but not always, and among other things, are the factors IO’s embedded into their minds to consider before even they call for a case to be interviewed. This is only based on my experienced and strong beliefs; you can form your own opinion:

  1. USA is a business-oriented country (and leisure). And so know that when you petition or sponsor a relative you have traceable economic sources to support the beneficiary (ies).
  1. You have to prove that you and your beneficiary will not become a welfare check recipients.

  1. Know that marriage in this country is not for everyone, and that the divorce rate in this country is 1 in every 2 married couples, and in short period of time from their marriage date. And marriage here is like a business; you cannot even get married in any licensed entity that does weddings if you don’t have a “marriage license.”
  1. Now: If you get married and have children and have no real economic resources to support the children, know that these children would become burden to the welfare department of the government and the taxpayers in general. And this is a big matter in this country.
  1. Someone had mentioned the window of interview within 5 months; this is not actually true, but only an assumption. Each case is handled separately. If your papers are not in order or consistent, then it could take longer than normal. And your papers would also tell them about your intentions, and this will surface in the interview.
  1. NOW: In all types of immigration status adjustments, marriage petition is given weight in the interview process. And so now this that marriage is all about establishing a bona fide relationship and sharing responsibilities. It is not about your past, but your present condition for your future. I remember a story that some gal did a fake pregnancy to show that they are expecting a child, but failed to support her twisted idea.
  1. And last but not least, it’s about being truthful and a law-abiding person. AND AGAIN, NEVER CALL USCIS TO PRESSURE THE USCIS AND ITS STAFF. They already gave you your temporary green card, so you will not be pressured and worried, and so “WHAT IS YOUR REASON TO RUSH THEM UP?”

My advice to all is to enjoy your time, let the USCIS and its staff do their jobs, and make sure no one in your friends and co-workers have the reason to report you to USCIS, then you will be in trouble.

This thought cross my mind yesterday... We saw how fast interviews were scheduled just a few months ago and now everything seems to be frozen... Could it be that these delays are because elections are very close and they don't want new citizens voting? (or perhaps this sounds too crazy).

I think that has been discussed in earlier threads. There is a presumption that new citizens tend to be more democratic than republican but either way, am guessing that USCIS is not swayed by internal politics and just focus on it's mission which is to ensure qualified individuals are sworn-in as citizens!!!

For those of you waiting for interview letter - has anyone scheduled an InfoPass to find out why the delay or contacted their local congressman/woman to see if they can help?

USCIS goal is to process application in about 5 months and June filers are still within 5 month period so you may not get any concrete answers.

I understand if they schedule interview in month 4 then you may have oath in month 5 and be able to complete within that timeframe.

IT'S so strange it seem LA is not moving … no july or may interviews schedule.

How to you know that this is rant? The poster has a very good point, and giving us pieces of advice here? I'd like to know so I can be aware of.

Thank you.

I am not sure how being objective of the real issue is a rant! I guess when desire, desire of having that interview in place, comes into play or control our emotion, our mind becomes ignorance to the matter. I am waiting for my interview date myself. The point I was trying to get across is "do not" let yourself incriminate by your own actions because your actions will affect everyone's purpose.

The OP is just fear-mongering about USCIS.

Everyone in the June filer thread have a right to call USCIS and find out their status and reasons for delay. Trying to post false information and intimidating won't help anyone.

Hello. Am starting this thread so all June filers can track their N-400 journey towards naturalization.

Both my parents will be applying for their N-400 around the second week of June.

Can someone confirm if I have included all the necessary documents in the application packet?

  1. Completed, Signed and Dated N-400 forms.
  2. Copy of both sides of their Green Cards.
  3. 2 Identical Color Photographs each with their name and A-number written on the back.
  4. Check for $680 + $680 and A-number written on the back of each check.
  5. Two copies of IRS transcripts for the last 4 years(2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013) - They did not file their taxes as they have no income however, I claimed them as dependents on my taxes
  6. Copy of Dad's driver's licence and auto insurance policy.
  7. Two copies of parent's bank statements.
  8. Two copies of utility bills on parent's name.
  9. Two copies of notarized statement regarding their marriage(they don't have marriage certificate).
  10. Two Form G-1145 for e-notification of application acceptance.
  11. Two similar written statements regarding why they don't meet the minimum income requirement to file taxes and also regarding their frequent travel out of the country.
  • Physical Requirement: They will meet the 913 day(30 months) requirement on June 12th so will likely send the package around June 9th.
  • Continuous Requirement: They meet this requirement as they have resided in the US for the last 5 years with no absence longer than 6 months at any time but have had 5 trips that are less than 6 months each and hence the separate written statement.
  • State Presence Requirement: They meet the 3 month requirement to reside in the district before they apply their N-400.

Any other documents that need to be part of the application packet ?

Also, will they have joint interview or separate interview ?

I just send it as well...

06/02/2014 Sent the N-400 Package

06/04/2014 Receive

im also applying this week. i confused that we send N-400 with G-1145, so how about M-477 ?

OK. I have tried to add the below table so we can start tracking.

Please let me know if the field office is accurate.

Hlee14, I believe that you only need to put the time since you became a permanent resident...so if it's been only 3 years since you received your GC, you don't need to put the places you lived before that.

I have a question, did any of you add a cover letter listing the docs you sent with the N-400?

I am about to mail my application for my daughter and I. She is now an adult, so has to apply separately from me. We have lived in the US for 17.5 years, and I have been married to a US citizen for 12 years. We have had our green cards for 8 years. About time, huh?!

I will be sending out my application sometime in the next few days as well. I can't help but notice that the required documents for the N400 isn't as extensive as the I751.

This is what I have so far:

-$680 check payable to DHS

-2 passport photos

-front and back copy of GC

-tax transcripts 2010 to 2014

-apartment lease agreement and rental receipts (2009 to present)

-joint checking account statements 2011 to present

-joint savings account statements 2011 to present

-copies of joint credit card and statements (Jan 2014 & May 2014)

-copy of health insurance card, statements, beneficiary designation

-husband's 401K beneficiary designation

-copy of marriage certificate

-copy of auto insurance policy

-husband's birth certificate

-our son's birth certificate

Several questions:

1. Do I need to include credit card statements solely under my name? We have fully paid out all our other credit cards and have only used a joint credit card since Jan 2014.

2. Utility bills are only in my husbands name. Do I need to include them?

3. Are vacation itineraries & pictures acceptable?

Thanks in advance. I'm so excited for this last leg of the journey!!

TO: Second Stage

With all due respect, I am trying to share my utmost and objective information regarding immigration issues, and you tried to single-out me.

My purpose here is to gather facts to put on the table to sort out and give an open mind about it for my reference. I DO NOT plant hatred!

And please DO NOT mention the word “fear-mongering” because you have no idea what “Fear” is?

And so I had no choice but to see what you started here. And it turned out you yourself sound “FAKE!” If you were very knowledgeable of the process, why are you asking these people here, who don’t even have the clue about immigration process to confirm if you have compiled the right documents for you parents? And if you really are from Florida, then, I tell you what I knew about Florida, “It is the home of most “tax evaders” in the country, and home of so many “criminals.” I don't need to prove this to you, do your research.

So please DO NOT single-out me.

TO: All

Always “FOLLOW” instruction. Every form has number according to your AOS needs. And every form # has a corresponding instruction—“Follow it.” Also, when you receive any document from USCIS, make sure to read it until your heart is content so that you can clearly follow what is instructed, or you will receive an RFE, or you application is set aside.

Good luck…

TO: Arte_Collection

From what you shared here, you were given 8 questions; you answered 6 out of 8 correctly, and you did not get the 2. You only shared 4 questions here, what are the four other questions? Or will you please share the other 4 questions?

Thank you in advance.

You quoted an earlier post from me, with the above response. I didn't ask a question in that post. Not sure how your reply involves me.... Sorry, just confused.

I did not think it was about "fear-mongering" but objective. And I agree with you that with you that everyone who files N-400 has the right to follow-up their cases, and you yourself said that their is time window of 5 months. It has been 2.5 months since June, 2014 has ended, and common sense wise, you only make a follow-up at least 5-month period is due and haven't received any reply.

I am confused! Help!
