If you are questioning it, then my opinion is that you should just wait for the day of your appointment.

I was looking at the April filers thread and there is someone there, also from Charlotte, who completed the whole N-400 process in 3 months. Of course I don't know how his/her case compares to yours, but it seems like the Charlotte Field Office processes N-400 applications pretty quickly. Maybe you should take a look at the previous months filers threads to have a better idea, if you would like to know more.

Yes, I have read it, charlotte office process the N400 within 3 month. it is pretty quick. it is lucky I am in charlotte.

it is a small city. not alot of people here. They process my ROC green card in Atanta GA for 12 month due to huge people there.

When you enter the door, do they check your appointment date? Or they said nothing and let you in?

So I went to the Kansas City ASC for the early/different office bio. The security guys remembered me from my little flying visit last week and were super friendly. I got to the window inside the ASC and the guy there was also super-nice, even saying "you guys are doing a great job!" Erm.........OK then! If you say so!! Then he asked me for my greencard - DOH! I'd forgotten to bring the damn thing with me. I'd only briefly glanced at the FP appointment form and seen that I needed to bring the letter and a picture I.D. but of course, it does also say that N-400 applicants must also bring their GC. So I left in a rather embarrassing hurry and will return today - WITH the greencard this time!!!!!!!!

OK, so update on this. I went back to Kansas City ASC today (WITH my greencard this time), and once again was welcomed by the friendly security team. Upon entering the facility, a different officer was on duty, so I explained to her that I had an appointment in St Louis, but that I'd been told that it was OK to have it done here. She looked at me in a dismayed fashion, shook her head and said "who told you that?" Somewhat startled, I told her that the security staff had assured me that it was OK, and it was then that I noticed her struggling to keep a straight face - she was yanking my chain, and boy, did I fall for it!! At this juncture I would like to point out that she was training a new officer whilst dealing with me today, and she told her new charge, and I quote, verbatim, "they don't have to go to the office on their appointment letter - they can have it done anywhere." Upon hearing her say this, I explained to her about VJ and the various cases where applicants seeking early bios/different offices had been turned away. She looked somewhat bemused and told me that, and again I quote, "any office should do it." Make a note, folks.

The procedure itself was simple and quick, and I was out of there in ten minutes. Upon leaving the building, one of the security guys walked outside with me and proudly showed me his Harley Davidson motorcycle (I was wearing a Harley t-shirt today) and we stood and chatted for a good five minutes about the joys and perils of biking. When we finished chatting, I bade him farewell with a "be safe, man" to which he responded with, "take care, brother." I swear, the whole experience was like visiting with family and friends rather than an official government duty.

So to surmise, if you need an early bio done (and Kansas City is doable logistically) then come here and have it done. And tell them I sent you!!!
