Adding myself to the list. I'm finding it really odd though that there was so little paperwork to send. Got used to K1 and AOS, and this time, as I waited several years, I'm filing under the 5 year rule and only had to send Green Card, photos and the Money Order. Is that really it?

That's really it. It's refreshing after the piles of paperwork for the other stages isn't it. ;-)

Got the e-mail today that they sent my finger print appointment letter. Will have to wait till I get that to know the date. Hopefully I get it, I have been reading a number of posts where people never receive the physical letter.

Naah..nothing is stupid unless you don't ask.

Usually you should get NOA and then FP notice.

However, in some case you may not receive NOA and just get the FP notice. so it's always best to sign up for an account online(you'll need your NOA) but at-least this will alert you for future notices...

It can be confusing because both are I-797C Notice of Action (NOA) forms.

The first one is to inform you of your case number, priority date and that they have forwarded your case to your Field Office.

The next one contains the time, date and location of your biometrics appointment (best known as FP). You need to bring this letter to your appointment with your GC and DL.

If you sent form G-1145 and already got a text/email with your case number you can check your status on the USCIS website. If not, you need to wait for your first NOA to arrive. You can also create an account with them and get notifications by email and/or text. The website won't inform you when your appointments are but will let you know when your biometrics letter was sent, when you are in line for interview, when your interview letter was mailed and so on.

I just got an e-mail that I'm in line for interview as of today, 06/26! That was quick!

cestlaviecherie, Priority Date is the date you were entered in their system and put in the queue for biometrics. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that date is important because you can track what is the priority date your Field Office is working on, for your type of application.

It can be confusing because both are I-797C Notice of Action (NOA) forms.

The first one is to inform you of your case number, priority date and that they have forwarded your case to your Field Office.

The next one contains the time, date and location of your biometrics appointment (best known as FP). You need to bring this letter to your appointment with your GC and DL.

If you sent form G-1145 and already got a text/email with your case number you can check your status on the USCIS website. If not, you need to wait for your first NOA to arrive. You can also create an account with them and get notifications by email and/or text. The website won't inform you when your appointments are but will let you know when your biometrics letter was sent, when you are in line for interview, when your interview letter was mailed and so on.

I think that's why I got confused. I've looked at some forums and people were referring to both as NOA, so I was lost if it's the same thing or different.. But thanks to you guys, now I know! :)

08.15.14-In line for interview (text/email)

08.26.14-Email/text Scheduled for the interview, letter sent

08.30.14-Interview letter in the mail scheduled for 10.01.14

10.01.14-Interview day - PASSED :)

10.13.14-Email/text - in line for oath ceremony

10.29.14-Email/text - oath ceremony letter sent

11.01.14-Oath letter received

11.19.14-Oath Ceremony

Am updating some of your timeline....

I didn't even notice I was going by a different username, so thank you for editing that. But you did add Little Rock as my Field Office and there's no Field Office in Little Rock. I have two options for nearby field offices but am waiting to see where they assign me to.
