Hi.

From reading a lot of posts here it seems most people have had their letters regarding interview waivers or actually had their interviews. I'm starting to get really fed up of the whole immigration process. Submitted AOS and online it is still in Acceptance. I logged a service request because the system said that the NOA1 was undeliverable, but since then my NOA1 for work permit came through and my actual EAD card came through. I haven't heard anything about the AOS, not even an interview waiver letter etc. Time to be worried? My case number starts with MSC which I think is Nebraska? I rang the customer service line and the guy told me they are processing cases from April 5th 2014 and that he couldn't tell me anything until the normal processing time was up. Shouldn't I have heard something like "you're getting an interview/you're not getting an interview" by now or before then?

I'm also frustrated with SSN office. I went last month to update my married name on the card that I've had since 2010 (had a J1 visa) and they said there was a problem verifying my idenitity and it would arrive in the mail and would take up to 4 weeks. Well its been 4 weeks and nothing. Have been on hold with them this evening, may just give up and ring tomorrow. I can't get my driving license or my car without my social security card showing my married name. I'm angry because where I live there is no public transport and hubby works long, late hours so wouldn't be able to give me a ride to work. I have had my card 6 weeks now but cannot use it as I can't get to any job. This is so upsetting.

Just so fed up with the whole system. Can't get to a job because I can't get a car without my married name on my social security card, and I haven't heard a peep about how my case is progressing yet most on this thread have had updates in the mail. Ughhhh.

K-1 Process:

09/03/13 - NOA1

10/22/13 - NOA2

02/25/14 - Visa Interview - Approved!

03/03/14 - Visa Received

04/08/14 - US Entry

06/05/14 - Wedding

AOS Process:

07/02/14 - NOA1s received for I-485, I-765 and I-131

07/23/14 - Early walk-in for Biometrics

09/04/14 - EAD Card Approved!

09/11/14 - EAD Card Received

02/27/15 - Greencard Approved!
03/12/15 - Greencard Received!
ROC Process:
02/07/2017 - NOA1
03/09/2017 - Biometrics
02/15/2018 - Extension Stamp in Passport at Local Office
...currently waiting...

I'd call USCIS again, some times you get to talk to people that don't really help much... as far as it goes for the SSN I can't help you since I chose to keep my last name to avoid having to change my SSN and all that. I think it'd be better to get a new SSN once you have your green card in hand-your SSN won't change anyhow they'll just change the name associated to it.

You could try to send an e-request if it lets you: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.doWhen we sent one for our NOA2, cause we were over the processing time, they sent a letter right away and we got approved a week after the e-request. Not too sure whether that was a coincidence or not, but I do think it helped and they wrote down why we didn't get a NOA2 in a timely manner.

We also got an RFE for our AOS and when they received it the web site said to contact them after 60 days if we didn't hear from them. I'm not sure the 60 days apply to AOSers who get no RFEs... maybe someone knows a bit more about this.

Also did you try to check the case number close to yours? Some times it helps to see whether the other cases have been touched or not, or if they have any recent updates.

Good luck.

I received a letter from SSA on Saturday, after 8 (!!!) weeks, that mz Social Security card will arrive in the mail within the next two weeks. I guess in my case they had to send everything to USCIS in order to verify my information.

Good luck to all of you!

Well we had our interview on the 13th and the officer didn't say right out we were approved but talked as if we were. Later I checked the website and saw our welcome letter had been sent. She said (the officer) while we were interviewing that we can apply for citizenship after 3 years wow I thought it was longer. My wife is getting a ten yr green card. I'm happy and relieved!!!

Congrats!

I think the reason why your wife is getting a ten year green card because you both were married more than 2 years before applied AoS.

Did you put an extra $100 dollar bill in the application for "expedited service" lol Good luck, and God Bless Us All.

I was wondering the same thing -if I happen to leave before I have my green card in hand, which should be in April... coincidentally the month I wanted to leave. Maybe it's worth making a new thread about that? I'm so paranoid and don't want to get stuck out of the country, especially since I had to go through all this just to get my AP/ EAD card.
