I have a funny story to share with you all from earlier today. The people who noticed my earlier post I seemed, somewhat at least, upset with the USCIS and the processing time/s for everyones cases as well as my own. Today my patience hit rock bottom. Pulled out all the papers, picked up my phone and called 1 800 375-583 to begin my quest for some specific information. Roughly 60 minutes later, going through two, what seemed to be, Tier 1 USCIS employees before a warm, friendly, and young sounding voice started after a transfer from Tier 1 to Tier 2. This transfer did not come from the USCIS, I had to be very assertive about my request and only had this as my reason "I want more specific information regarding both my cases." Back to the friendly USCIS Tier 2, this guy started off by asking general questions about my petition, got me up to speed with what was going on and where it was in the process - I did not have to ask for this either! - before he politely asked what he could help me with. I took out my paper with questions that I had in mind that would be specific but not too specific for him so he probably could answer them. This on the other hand resulted in him telling me that someone had my case, my RFE was received and in the system, and that my EAD was assigned to someone as well. He tried to see if mine was outside the normal processing times by running some queries in the system. He informed me that everything seemed to be in order and that everything should be processed within the given timeframe, yes the one that we all know of so well - 75 days before requests and 90 days or less to be approved. He cracked some more jokes about Sweden and tried to speak Swedish with me. Yes, I taught the guy how to say "Thank you and have a nice day" before hanging up the phone. According to him my EAD could be approved tomorrow, monday or next week, or who knows - his exact words.

Three hours later I received a notice from USCIS that my EAD was in production. I do not know about you guys but it seems a little too perfect to be a coincidence. However, no one is happier than me.

I hope no one in the future gets their hope ups that this is a way of speeding things up. However, I encourage you to give them a call. This is America, when people call them up asking for people with power to get to the person who handles your case. Let's just say that "--it just got real" in the work place whenever that happens.

Au revoir!

Hi,

We have same day for EAD card production!

Hi everyone, just curious because my I-485 status changed to testing and interview last July 9 and yet until now I did not receive any notice that they will going to schedule an interview and or interview date. It's been 42days since status changed to testing and interview? Should I need to worry and call USCIS? Most of June filers I guess got interview schedule already. Appreciate your help.

It depends how busy the USCIS local office is. Which USCIS local office is processing your I-485?

I think the Nebraska Service Center transfer many people talk about, is an error in USCIS' system.

My status says Nebraska Service Center, too, but the NOA's are sent from the National Benefits Center in Missouri.

I am not sure, though. There have been people calling USCIS to find out whether their case is really in Nebraska and the customer service representative told them it's a mistake.

I hope it's not going to take over a year to get the GC, lol...

Good luck anyway!
