hi guys! congrats to everyone who got their EAD/AP cards and good luck to all who have received their interview notices!

i haven't been checking VJ all that much lately, been so busy with work. i am working 2 jobs now, one FT and one PT, and can barely remember the days when i was bored at home and restless all day lol! hope everyone has been keeping well and that things continue to progress for all of you!

Yay, congrats! I have no idea how do you be able to manage working with different jobs, one with full time and other is part time. I was worked full time before in my country and it was almost took all of my times, lol. At least you don't have to stay at home all day alone like many of us,

I'm adjusting from F-1 and judging by her timeline it appears we filed AOS same day and even got NOA 1 same day lol. Interesting!!! Prolly will use her as a case study to determine what category of AOS applicants gets processed faster than the other. Right now my AOS is being handled at the Nebraska Service Center, to the best of my knowledge it hasn't been transferred to my local CIS office yet. I'm suspecting starting this week down to the 15th, I'll get updates regarding an interview notice. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm also adjusting from F-1, and at Nebraska Service center. I'm 16 days after you. We're at Scheduling for interview since the 6th but still no letter from USCIS. I'm hoping that we could be one of the cases that doesnt need an interview.

So far I'm just proud that I managed to do the application ALL ON MY OWN and no RFE's.

I'm dying to start working. Been sending out interviews all over NYC in the hospitality/tourism industry. Got a pretty good chance with Big Bus but I also like to get into a hotel. .. So if you know of any

3 July: Called USCIS, put in expedite. Was told that the local office would be contacting me in 5 days to request supporting evidence and would tell me where to fax/send it.

7 July: I called USCIS to confirm that someone was looking into my case and would be contacting me since I hadn't heard anything yet. (I had read that USCIS had previously denied expedite requests based on a lack of evidence but never asked the person to submit anything in the first place). Was told by Tier 1 that it would take another 30 days (?!?), so I asked to speak to a Tier 2. She said that if someone didn't contact me the next day, it meant the request was denied.

8 July: No news from USCIS so I wrote (faxed) to my congressman's district office. I included a letter explaining why I was writing and the basis for my expedite, job offer email from the company, some documents showing our financial obligations (e.g. rent statements, monthly bills, etc).

9 July: Congressman's immigration liaison staffer called me and said that she received my documents and would be calling USCIS. In the evening, she called again and said expedite was approved and I would hear in 3 working days from USCIS whether the EAD is denied or approved.

11 July: Status changed to card production!

i contacted adam smith - but i believe you have to contact the representative for your district (it depends on your address/zip code). if you are not a part of their constituency, i am not sure how much they would be able to help. no harm trying though. good luck!

Thanks for sharing!!! I'll check to see if he's within my district but I thought it'd be good to reach out to a congressman who has previously successfully helped someone expedite their EAD.

Seeing that some people who filed at the same time as me were already getting their appointment notice, on August 11th I called USCIS and put in a service request to ask for an appointment date. And this morning at 7:16am, received a text and email "case status updated - we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for SEPTEMBER 18, 2014." honestly this process moved supersonic faster than I ever coulda imagined. Finally I see a light at the end of the tunnel now I can just rest easy till the D-Day... BTW I returned back to work as a full-time staff plus today I start my second part-time job. In all things, I'm grateful and to God be the glory!!!

I had my biometrics appointment 07/17 and haven't heard anything since then A lot of people got status updates about two weeks after the biometrics appointment so I am a little worried... I am hoping to receive good news anytime soon...

We'll it depends which visa are you adjusting to. If you are adjusting from K-1 visa, expecting things happen a bit longer than any other visas. I had my biometric on July 23 and I haven't heard anything yet. I think we are about the same timeline. Be patience because we almost there. Good luck to all of us.

No movement yet. We are adjusting from a K-1 Visa.

Just got email/text, .. case updated to testing and interview. pheww, finally!.. I was starting to get really axious as my case status had been on rfe response review since Aug 5th. Had to send in new I-864 from another joint sponsor.

Aaand we wait. Our RFE has been received it seems, so worried about it and no AP or EAD but it's ok, as long as everything work out in the end.

Not to mention out K1 took quite some time to be approved, although we had no RFE at the time... we're used to waiting.
