I was seeing that most people is getting their EAD in production already.. that makes me think that I could just wait for the normal processing. The problem with my husband job is that he gets paid per mile with no base salary or anything. This month the company truck broke down twice and he got two $100 paychecks :/ because they couldn't repair it and he had to get another truck. I would like to ask, and maybe get a job offer.

I read previously that for the interview you had to bring in all the documentation that USCIS sent you. Is this correct?

actually, i do think you have a good case for expediting, but coupled with a job offer. the reason being you don't need an EAD to apply for jobs - so you can work on that first, now, and then once you get a job, call in to get the EAD expedited.

the documentation they are referring to includes things like NOA2 (this is the important one to keep), interview appointment letter, etc. but most people are never even asked for it. since HBSJVV is adjusting from a K1, she might not even get an interview and could simply find her greencard in the mail one day :)

In contrast I know we are all here to support one another but at the same time we should be straightforward when it comes to the advise we give. No one wants to be bearer of sad news but it's better to be upfront than giving empty hopes only for the person to set themselves up for disappointment. Keep in mind couple folks have been denied even with pending job offers or tighter situation than the OP. Call a spade a spade.... If u consider the OP's case, there's really no emergency as it is right now cos their situation can be salvaged. However if (s)he gets a firm job offer then OP could potentially qualify for Expedite under financial loss. Bottom line, it's all dependent on who reviews OPs initial request. Remember u get no chance to submit any evidence upon requesting expedite so u have to make a strong claim that would warrant them to move u to the next stage of asking for proof otherwise it will end up like one of the several cases that were denied without even giving the applicant a chance to back their claim. Anyways good luck OP on whatever u decide to do

my situation was not emergent or particularly serious and my expedite was approved. USCIS did not ask me for any proof, and i contacted my congress person, who got me an approval by the very next business day. i have seen a lot of people approved for expedite requests with pending job offers and extremely few denials. i am being perfectly straightforward when i say that lesthatsri has a good chance with a pending job offer.

I would say let's OP decided what she wanted to do. People gave an advise and she can choose which one she will follow. This is not something unresolved situation. She will get her EAD eventually. But she needed now to help her husband's financial problem which probably to make her get faster of EAD's approval.

Giving an empty hope for instance telling people that they will get approved even in reality they already denied. That's I call giving an empty hope.

As myself, I don't have an emergency situation. My husband can afford everything I need but I still wanted to try to get expedite since I have two jobs offer pending. No harm to try. If I get denied at least I know what kind situation that needed an expedite.

exactly - my husband and i did not have any sort of financial emergency either, i just wanted to start work, and did not want to keep my employer waiting. (just to update, i have started work and it's been great getting out of the house and not spending all day alone haha)

i just did not appreciate someone lecturing me on giving false hopes, when i did nothing of that sort. based on how i got my expedite approved, i gave an informed reply to the OP. i also do not think we should discourage her from applying for an expedite. there is certainly no harm in trying, the worse that could happen is they say no.

Indeed.

I think your case got approved for expedite will give others hope to expedite their application. After I saw some approvals I am so excited wanting to expedite my EAD. I don't think you were trying to give false hopes to people about this emergency situation since you have already approved.

And hey, congrats for your new job.

Just finished calling USCIS and spoke to Tier 2. I asked them to expedite my I-765 based on humanitarian situation. I have no idea if it will work or not, :content: . I told them that I had been worked for over 11 years and I felt useless and have emotional distress not being able to work. They asked for doctor's letter but I said I do not have any since I only felt this way if I am not working. Also I told them that I have 2 jobs offer pending. Cross fingers if they will expedite my I-765.

I called today to the USCIS too, and asked to expedite my EAD due to extreme urgent situation. I said my husband hasn't make enough income this month and that we need to rent an apartment because of the closure of his parents house. I also mentioned his debt and that he needed to get dental work done last month without insurance (we dont have insurance right now :/). They will send me an email within 5 - 10 days. My husband is coming home on thursday so i am going to wait for us to move so I can apply to jobs around. Because I need to be close enough to my work to use the bus system or walk there :P

If I do get a job offer I will contact the congressman :P

Good luck Celebes too :D

If you adjusted from different type visa not K-1, K-2, and K-3, expected your application will moving faster. That's why on VJ they separated adjusting of status from Family Based Visas and adjusting status from Work, Student, and Tourist Visas because the length of process are different. My observation based on what I read and learned on VJ so far. Anyhow, congrats for moving faster and keep us posted.

ooh wow really, I honestly thought it was the other way round. K-1, K-2 etc are processed faster while every other visa category much slower. Hopefully I hear words soon regarding the appointment date but for the meantime I'm still anxious about receiving my EAD. It has no tracking info on the website and I dont know how else I would be able to know the delivery progress but oh well still tryna remain patient. Thanks and I'll be sure to update if any new info arises... open question - does anyone know if they can issue an "RFE" at this Testing and Interview stage??
