Just chiming in, but we're still waiting for the notification of acceptance, NOA1 etc. Very glad that we chose to send it via certified mail, so at least I know it got there!

Our biometric appt was on 07/02/14 and our case was updated on 07/11/14, so it only took 9 days (5/6 business days since 4th of July was in the mix) Pretty fast!! Totally not sure how soon it will be scheduled yet though...fingers crossed for soon! :)

That was fast. Congrats!

At least they don't waived the interview since many of filers are still waiting from last year to get approved their green card after received waiver interview letter.

Hi everyone.. How can I have my EAD fast? I have job offer pending..

There was a post from Kitthekat about expedite an EAD. I also have 2 jobs offer pending but I told employers that I only can work after at least I have my EAD. But I guess you can only request expedite after done with the biometric.

Just a quick question; that I'm pretty sure I know the answer to but: Traveling within USA with my passport shouldn't be a problem? Since the passport is in my maiden name, should I just use that when I buy a plane ticket?

AOS from F-1, maintaining status

August 2010 was introduced to each other during a visit in NY.
01/14/2012: Arrived at JFK with F-1 visa with the intention of studying for three years, and then do OPT. Intention was not to get married!
Yet, almost five semesters as a full-time international student later he proposed ...

04/07/2014: Married in Queens, NY

06/26/2014: I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 and supporting documents sent to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Priority.

06/30/2014: USPS states delivery happened 6:50 am.

07/07/2014: Received NOA of I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765 dated 07/02. --- What a great 3-month anniversary gift!

07/15/2014: Received Biometrics appointment scheduled 07/31, in Long Island City.

07/31/2014: Biometrics done. Process took 45 minutes. 99% was waiting time. Awesome people working there. Good experience!

08/06/2014: Case i-485 updated to Testing & Interview on uscis.gov - - Yay!

08/29/2014: Updates on I-765, card in production as well as I-131.

09/04/2014: Update on I-485, interview scheduled for October 10th, 2014.
09/08/2014: Received combo-card. Went straight to Social Security office to get SSN.
09/15/2014: Received Social security card in mail.
10/10/2014: Interview at Long Island City. Took no more than 10 minutes. Was simple, normal questions. Was approved on spot.

ROC

10/07/2016: USPS stated I-751 was delivered. Also sent in fee waiver request.
10/19/2016: Got everything back, with denied fee waiver. They misspelled my name. Makes me wonder if they even read my application. My name is all over the papers.
10/25/2016: Sent in ROC (I-751) again, with USPS.

10/29/2016: I-751 delivered again.

12/16/2016: Biometrics done in LIC, Queens.

Which USCIS local office they set for your biometric appointment? You always can try early walk-ins. But, bear in mind most of times they will refused. If the local office close to your place, it won't harm to try. My husband and I need to drive 3 hours each way go to Miami for my biometric appointment. I won't risk go there thinking will waste of our time if we do early walk-ins biometric and they will denied us.

Seems like the USCIS do actually work every once in a while. They received the RFE last friday and this morning it was updated to RFE response review. Sure hope that the officer is satisfied with the response and this can move on further down the line.

Received biometric appointment for 07/31 in Long Island City, NY. The notice date was 07/09 but I didn't receive it until today, 07/15, and there has been absolutely no updates on the website since 07/03, and no updates on text/mail eventhough we requested it.

Oh well.

i don't think USCIS sends out text/email notifications about biometrics, because you need the appointment letter they send by post anyway to get in the building.

oops just realised you might have meant text/email notifications about NOA1. yeah...their system is hit and miss. :(

Biometrics appointment update - July 15, 2014:

Just came from a successful walk-in at New York - Varick Street office. My appointment was set for July 23.

It was a good tip to go in the afternoon, there were barely a handful of people in the place. I arrived at 1:30 pm. There was no queue for me, my prints and photo were taken as soon as I finished filling up their form (for the usual personal information). I was there maybe 10 minutes total.

Three (3) people checked my appointment letter, the last guy even drew a circle around the appointment date and time. No one questioned why I was there 1 week ahead of schedule.

Yeah, I see how it sounded confusion. Yes, we haven't received notifications of NOA1. It's ok though, now that we have the paper version. But it just means, that I'm logging on the website more often to check if there's any updates :dancing:
