Is it important to update my status? Btw, i'm in Texas.

I live in kentucky, I called the office and they told me I don't have to do anything regarding my status in the drivers license. They said it will be updated once I renew it. But they told me I can register to vote which normally they do it when you apply for your license. It could be different in texas. I advice you to call the DMV and ask them, they will give you the right answer.

Just found this topic a bit late. in Texas, go to the DPS with the naturalization certificate to update your record to USC. If the name on your certificate is different from your driver license, they will issue a new license in the certificate name. You pay a fee if they issue a new license :(

But once they have you as a citizen, then you can use the many things available online like renewal and change of address that aren't currently available to aliens.

Update Social Security too.
