I know it's near impossible for a middle eastern muslim man to get a visitor's visa, but what about his family once he's here? Is it possible for my husband's sisters to come here and visit us every so often?

I had that same question and when I asked around I was told that Rida's younger brother's would more than likely not be granted a visa. (they are 18) However, that it would be likely for his parents to be granted a visa. From my understanding, it all depends on wether or not they can prove their ties to the community and that they are more than likely to return. On the other hand, I have also heard where grandparents were denied visa's and they truly had no intention of staying here. They just wanted to visit.

Well that sucks lemons bigtime then. He has no parents so his sisters are all that he has and vice versa. I mean we'll certainly go to Egypt once/year to see them but it would be nice for them to be able to come to see us too.

My fiance and I talk sometimes about his brother and sister coming to visit us. Insha'Allah they'll be able to come stay with us sometime.

Hope you guys can work it out Doodle. It would be really great if they could come visit you two.

Basically what we were told for Khallids sisters or brother to get a vistors visa would that they all would have to prove that they have a lot of money in the back. Now I don't know what Egypt considers "a lot," but I do know a few of Khallids friends that were outright denied because they didn't have that money. I guess they assume that if the person has a lot of money in the bank they will for sure go back to Egypt.

ETUS was able to get his wife's mother over recently from Ethiopia. they did the deposit into the bank to prove funds, but the rest I am unfamiliar with.

My fiance tried to prove that when he was trying to get a regular visitor's visa. They told him he had to have a certain amount of money in the bank. He put it in the bank and gave them everything else they asked for and they still denied him.

I think it depends alot on the reason for the visit, the age and some other factors as well.

I wouldn't rely on getting a visa just because you do what they said you had to do.

For some countries, it requires more than cash in the bank, because that can be withdrawn. Things like property ownership, a long term job, children/family remaining in the home country, a business, etc are better at proving ties than cash in the bank. They also take into consideration age and gender as well.

I am about 95% sure if his family member (mum, dad, aunts, uncles)is old there no prob with visas. But if this relative is ages 16-45 then even if they are relatives they need to prove they will come back (like own family, assets, job, etc)

You write a letter of invitation stating you will be responisblle for them with the dates they will be visiting. You are legally bound responible for them medically and financially when they come. And if they overstay the vias they will come looking for you. I know since my cousin visitied me and overstayed her visa.

What are the odds we can sponsor him too?

His family keeps pressuring him (my BIL ) to marry... but he doesnt want to marry there, he wants to wait to marry for love like my DH.

I keep looking for a single girl early 20's or so to fix him up with... Im a yenta at heart! LOL

Its not that easy to sponser someone for a work visa, there are many steps you need to go through. I would think that being brothers they would have a disadvantage from the get go. Good luck!
