Is Anyone here using an immigration attorney, or used an attorney? Is it faster that way? I retained an attorney upon my re-entry to the US after being married to a Jamaican in Jamaica. I wonder what are the pros and cons? Any one know of or heard anything about it? Also any scammers to be aware of?

Thanks

Using an attorney will not be faster as it does not affect how quickly the service centres process their cases. Many people here don't use attorneys with their cases unless their cases are complicated (e.g. criminal convictions, visa denials, etc.).

I didn't use one, but my case isn't complicated.

I hired an attorney after returning from Jordan. His paralegal sent the k3 to the wrong center, that caused a several month delay. Then their ineptness caused 2 RFE's. Total time apart---2 long painful years.

I am sure some have had success with an attorney, but ours was a nightmare.

Is Anyone here using an immigration attorney, or used an attorney? Many

Is it faster that way? No

I wonder what are the pros and cons? Each persons situation is different so the Pros/Cons are different as well

Any one know of or heard anything about it? Hear anything about what?

Also any scammers to be aware of? I don't know about scammers, but there are many (attorneys) who simply do not know what they are doing.

YMMV
