Problems during the interview

Hi all,

My fiancee had an interview Jan 10th, and the consul told her she had big problems, and that she could have overstayed in US last time she visited on B2 visa (even though she did not overstay, and was legal at all times), the consul is trying to prove that she was not. My fiancee took her medical, financial documents and her passports and told her that she will have to investigate. Did this ever happen to anyone and if it did how long did their embassy internal investigation take? The embassy is in Moscow, Russia.
