Precisely. G's account wouldn't sell copy.

I wanted broken couches covered with stains, syringes under cushions, tales of girls just having signed up to a modelling agency and new in town...maybe a horse thrown in...

And aside about Spooky on the barcalounger with a sheep. I bet Spooks goes through a lot of couches!

Here's my contribution: my ex is a petulant jerkface. We'll be getting along just fine for a while and then BOOM! I do something wrong that a) I don't know what it is; and b) is so inexcusable as to necessitate the silent treatment. It's a good reminder of why we are exes though!

Mr U is still working on his startup and feels kind of lost at sea without "real" employment. He's at put up or shut up time and needs to finish his prototype. I can't say what it is, but it is pretty darn cool and you may very well hear of it before the elections next year... :D

Got invited to a wedding that is an entire week of "celebrations," including a drag show bachelorette party, all day Disneyland extravaganza, lots of hiking, a day at the beach, museum outings, etc etc. Who needs a week for "celebrating"? Invite me to a reception and let me drink your booze. That's all I care about. Oh, and the reception (which we are going to -- and only that) has a theme of "fairyland" so we're supposed to come in costume. Appropriate costume. I intend to wear something slutty and a pair of wings. Boom -- costume.

And it's Friday night and I'm still at work. :-/

I have a friend in the furniture biz, well actually they design fabric for furniture, real high end ####### the likes of which I don't buy. He has told me for years that what people have in their homes are sofas not couches. He says a couch is what you find in a psychiatrists office...I'm not sure why he is my friend.

Just saw this on Craigslist and wanted to share...

"Beautiful Chinese carpet 290 cm x 230 cm x 2 cm. Forced sale due to son's health, doctors orders as collects dust and not allowed to sell son!
We can help arrange delivery via taxi moving service."

Is he British? Couch is considered a non U word.. Not sure why he's your friend either-lol. If he is a Brit, and you really want to annoy him, call it a settee!;) (One of the most awful words in the world -ha ha)

Nope he's 'murican from South Carolina. He's pretty fancy even though he's from the south, has an art degree and a bitchin red beard. I think our friendship is rooted in our deep love of downhill skiing and of course the drink.

I remember some old folks calling it a 'divan' when I was a young'n growing up in New England.

Is this available where you live?

Zero sugar, zero purine beer. A big trend here. It's delicious and non fattening;)

5.5 percent alcohol.

Kirin beer.

I'm sure I can find it in one of the expat or Japanese markets, I'll keep my eyes open for it. I like the 5.5%, most Chinese beer is between 3-4.7%.

The word couch came into favor about 40 years or so ago, before that it was always the sofa or divan in my family. My Grandmother always called the sofa the divan, and the ottoman was known as the hassock.

As for the ex, I would be minimizing the time I allow him to take up in my life. Life is too short for folks who like to make it more difficult than it needs t be.

Has Mr. U come up with a way for democrats to vote even more times than they already do, or has he figured out how Obama can run for a 3rd term and he is going to be his campaign manager? Whatever it is, good luck to Mr. U!

For the fairy outfit, perhaps Operator or G might have something left over from their nuptials that you could borrow?

I've been looking for that necklace since the day you took this picture.

In other news...The missus and I are off to Vietnam tomorrow for 5 days. I've been in China for 6 months and I need to make a border run and I'm thinking this is the last trip she's going to be able to take before she hatches the baby. We booked a 2 night cruise on Ha Long Bay which I'm pretty gassed about!!! Teddy can I borrow your speedo?
