Almost Friday, losers! I'm making a Moroccan tagine tomorrow night with chicken, apricots, mushrooms and caramelised onions. Roasted plums with freshly whipped cream for dessert. Hanging out with two ex-VJers -- Trompe le Monde and bakofoil -- on Saturday night. Homework Saturday daytime and hopefully time for exercise on Sunday morning.

I'm waiting on some medical test results tomorrow -- wish me luck. I've been looking for a diagnosis for a particular issue for some time, and I should know tomorrow.

Fingers crossed, I'll stop and burn some incense for you on the way home.

On a very appalling note, the TD Garden has the unmitigated gall to charge $11.50 for a 16oz cup of draft beer. On our way to the seats, I stopped to get us each a beer and my jaw hit the floor when the guy said "that will be $23.00". Thank goodness one of my buddies works one of the stands that happened to be close to our seats and I was able to get a couple beers on the house. But $11.50 for a beer?? Blasphemy!

Themz airport prices.

That tagine sounds good Maves, save some for me please! Give Trompe some props from me, I'm a big fan of her work here on VJ with a certain someone from the green mountain state.

Hey Losers!!

I'm so boring, I have little to say. We bought a new couch, that work?

We're getting a new fridge delivered tomorrow. We wanted to spice things up a bit so this time the freezer is on the bottom!

Spice your story up by explaining why you had to get a new couch, the condition of the previous one etc. ;)

My wife is convinced we're allergic to it. It is odd that when I set on a certain end of it, there's good odds my allergies will flair up. But its not consistent and I've only recently started having problems despite owning it for around 5 years. She says its gives her hives but its also inconsistent and she's been known to get those randomly. She doesn't really like the design of it and says its too "hot" which is probably the real reason. it was a free set handed down from my parents so we can justify spending some money on something we want at this time.

I'm a regular user of the ice dispenser on our current fridge so I don't love the bottom freezer designs. But everyone's going with them and now they have a separate little ice dispenser in the door. Did you get one of the counter sunk ones? Cost twice as much, less space but flush up to the cabinets? That's a hard concept for me to grasp.

Hmm. I surmise from this you don't have a degree in journalism ! This is not a juicy story!

Our old fridge is a GE stainless, it has an ice and water dispenser in the door that has been nothing but problems ever since we got it 5 years ago. The ice maker finally died altogether about 6 months ago, I've been buying a bag of ice at the corner store every other week since. This one has an ice maker in the freezer but no dispenser, so opening that big drawer all the time for ice will take some getting used to. It's a Whirlpool stainless model. Home Depot had it on sale for $900 (reg price was $1600), we sold our old fridge for $200 to a neighbor so the new one is only costing about $700. Not a bad deal really.

Here's a link to the fridge if your interested. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Whirlpool-25-2-cu-ft-French-Door-Refrigerator-in-Monochromatic-Stainless-Steel-WRF535SMBM/204177400

That's a pretty good deal. I'm sure you'll be happy with it esp since you had so many probs with the old one. We recently bought a new, what I call traditional style, fridge for the garage. Its got the freezer on top and is one of the cheaper models. We needed more room for my wife's grocery shopping sprees.

I feel your wife's pain! I'm the one who goes on grocery sprees in our house.

What story based on the purchasing of a couch is?

I think Jacque was looking for something a little more steamy. Yanno, something about you wearing a velvet smoking robe and holding a riding crop.

Precisely. G's account wouldn't sell copy.

I wanted broken couches covered with stains, syringes under cushions, tales of girls just having signed up to a modelling agency and new in town...maybe a horse thrown in...
