Mr U and I are roadtrippin' to Phoenix this afternoon. While I'm there, I will be visiting with the much-missed former VJer the Empress of Groovy (aka Joyce). Anyone have any burning questions about fondue, 70s hair care or Alan Alda to pose to Joyce?

10:15 in the AM and the laundry is hanging to dry, the dishes be done and I'm about to sweep the floor. My dad always told me I'd make a good wife some day.

Todays mission is not yet clear. My two choices are: a) get a haircut or; b) find a used bike at a reasonable price that isn't stolen.

Later I will go to the market to decide tonights dinner menu.

Maybe I'll just stay on the couch and watch season 4 of Downton Abbey....

Later I plan to brush my tooth...Fun-e-Man

FWIW, 4:30 and my hair(s) is the same length and no wheels. On the flip side of that I have scrubbed the grout in the bathroom and completed the final sections of a very nice PPT presentation on the hazardous materials regulations and general regulatory approval requirements. I'm happy to share it if anyone is interested...:mellow::mellow:

Geebus this day is dragging, just like Operators knuckles!

This week is dragging. I'm at a lull right now -- bunch of cases settled, and two ones will ramp up shortly but nothing to do on them. I'm trying to look busy so I don't get saddled with some BS assignment.

Praise Geebus!

My kids picked that up from the Simpson's movie years back and for some reason it became part of our vocabulary. When Jane first came to the US she would hear one of us say it and just look puzzled. On night she asked me what the heII we were talking about and so I explained. She thought we were saying 'Ge Ba' which is slang for rooster penls where she comes from.

Since I've not gone to an office since the end of January my days just all blend together. Day to day I couldn't tell you if it's Monday or Thursday. I have a trip next week and last Sunday night I started throwing clothes in a bag and my wife asked where I was going then reminded me that I wasn't going until next week. I think it's early onset dementia. Teddy you are a lot older than me, when did it start for you?

Ge Ba = rooster penls? Cool now I have a new way of insulting people without them knowing it.

It started for me around the age of 30, but don't use me as a guage, I'm special!! :content:

Congrats to Teddy for unlocking a below the radar word!

So my boss is so sick of my (soon-to-be-ex-)co-worker not being able to do his job, that I have now taken on marketing until his replacement arrives. This wouldn't be such a big deal if we actually had a marketing plan. Dude has worked here 18 months, ostensibly as a marketing assistant, and never updated the one I started developing for his predecessor almost 3 years ago. The old one is hopelessly out of date. Now my boss and I have developed one together, and since neither of us are marketing people (which is why we have an assistant to do this), we're just hoping we're on the right track. It's really hard to work with someone I now kind of resent for being here. Hopefully we'll be interviewing someone next week, because we can't function like this.

On the other hand, Friday!

Now I'm furious. I'm supposed to meet with him to go over this plan, and I told him not to do anything related to it in the interim. My boss asked me if we were both working on the project, I said no, and my co-worker said no. Now it turns out he WAS working on this, and I look like a fool.

I can't wait until he's gone. Because I am so sick of this. I need the Korean BBQ I'm supposed to have tonight with Mr U, his insane Korean cousin and her lovely and patient husband. There better be plenty of soju.

He is such a wonderful guy, really funny, easy to get along with, and eager to please.

Same guy???? I always follow the creedo hire slowly, fire quickly. Once the decision was made to get rid of him he should have been gone, for his sake and yours.

I'm sure if we started a thread to collect insults in native tongue it would be a hit!

The new business has potential but a little slow. I've got several proposals out and had a few very promising meetings but just waiting to get some commitments. I'm actually doing pretty well on the consulting side which I didn't think would bear much fruit. Wifey is working like a dog and I'm keeping the house clean so all in all things are harmonious.
