07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

Make that over 8 feet in 3 weeks now Spooks. I hoisted the white flag in the front yard, but no one can see it with all this snow.

I talked to my Aunt in TN yesterday morning, she said the whole state is freaking out.

Tn got lots of ice. Ice sucks the most. Maybe not as bad as 3 ft of snow, but really really really hard to drive on.

I talked to my Daughter in NC and the 'State of Emergency' had sent the locals in search of ingredients for milk sandwiches.

60 and cloudy here. Happy Chinese New Year, ya freaks.

My wife thought that was Sunday, so we got delicious food early. Now I get it again. She has little bags of Candy prepared to give out. I was told I get one.

Well, I'm back to work today after a forced 2 day shutdown. About 1/2 dozen of the roof supports in the back of our building cracked under the weight of the snow and the building inspector shut us down until all the snow was cleared off of the roof. It took a crew of 18 people two days to get it done (our building is huge). We got the ok to re-enter the building at 9am this morning. This has been one interesting and frustrating winter to say the least.

Teddy - kudos to yer snow krewe there in Boston - now if NYC's snow krewe could get retrained, and maybe a new Mayor in place, NYC could easily mirror Boston for the hunkering down....

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It's the worst one month winter stretch in history here in Beantown. It's certainly been trying on everyone, but for the most part people have kept their cool and most are helping each other out. The traffic is horrendous. It takes me about an hour one way for what used to take 30 mins. for my daily commute to and from work. Pulling out of a side street is like playing Russian Roulette with these 12 foot high snow banks, you can't see if anything is coming.

More and more the older I get T-Bone. This snow used to be a lot of fun 20 years ago when I used to ski and snowmobile, not so much now.

I remember having moved from the Midwest to North Carolina in the mid-'80s. On Christmas Day, it was 70 degrees, and I walked outside in short pants. I remarked aloud, to no one in particular, "There is no need to stay in the Midwest and be cold!"

Where would you move, given your 'druthers?

The Carolinas are on the short list, but we have been looking in Kentucky and Tenn as well. Kentucky would be ideal for us regarding traveling back and forth to Windsor to visit Wifey's family, it would be about a 7hr drive straight up I-75.
