Anyone?

you shouldn't huff and drink at the same time.

Holy mackerel. I still have vivid mind-movies about that stuff from earlier life. Much blowing & drifting, or comparatively straightforward removal? Plows throw it all back on your driveway?

There were some very high winds, about 60-70mph so we had a good amount of drifting. When I woke up at 5am my back deck looked like someone had shoveled it clean, the bad news was it was all in a 6 foot high drift pile in front of my shed doors where I keep the snowblower. Throw in the 4 to 5 foot high plow mounds at the end of the driveway and it made for a fun day. My body is feeling it today.

Sorry to hear about that... I got stuck in the city - no flights out - and braced for the worst... We barely got 6 inches here in the end... The ordeal now is getting rebooked so I can get back home...

Everyone is laughing now but in hindsight it was a good idea to get everyone indoors and keep the streets clear. It made it that much easier for sanitation and other services to circulate.

A friend called me from JFK and told me it's still pretty much a mess trying to get on a flight to the west coast.

Having said that, waiting a couple of days for a flight is nothing compared to people who lost power and are having to shovel their ways out of their homes.

Stay safe!

My body is feeling it today.

Heap Strong Medicine -- I like aspirin or 800-mg Motrin. And stiff drinks dull the memory of stiff winds.

Were the news reports accurate that it was chiefly powdery, vs. wet? Neither is desirable, but one is easier to clear from shed doors than the other.

Hate to mention that it was 80 F. here yesterday, with Chamber of Commerce weather to continue until Saturday. The neighbor's monster oak tree, which had been toying with us to this point, has finally cut loose. (Leaf me alone, please.)
