oh - stuff, aye?

put in a study pod at my garden space a few weeks back -

then got in a pace arrow rv that was gutted but in otherwise running condition at the garden space.

school keeping me massively busy. garden keeping me busy....

that's about it, really - just staying busy and trying to heal.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Glad to hear your busy. Any plans to put that rv to use, or will you be selling it? My gardening is all done til next year. On my to do list this weekend is to put the final application of fertilizer on the lawn and pull out the snowblower and make sure it's ready to go.

Wow... that's sad :(

Yep.

Oh - I'm using it , living it till the end of the semester. This garden space is 1 mile due north of campus. The motor and tranny are stellar - the previous owner had a leak in the roof and then it affected all of the interior walls, so he gutted it and replaced the interior wall framing, then got busy and his city got on his @ss about having it there -

but I'm in a different city, different rules, so since it was 'basically sound' and I needed a quiet place for sleeping, I grabbed it. Not free, but only 3K. I've been putting up the interior walls, but using white melamine surface, it's the same stuff used in dry-erase whiteboards, so I can easily do stuff like write on the walls in dry-erase marker - helpful for studying.

Can you imagine, though ? interior walls all white. eek. It's a Pace Arrow 30 ft thingie.

Plans to take it out of the garden space? Maybe - it'd be fun to park it at Rice University for a football tailgater on game days. Not too many of those left, and I'm trying to stay busy with MY stuff ..

Most likely I'll keep it for the next 4 to 5 years - I'm chasing a MS plus a law degree - all campus's are downtown (campii?) so it's just dead convenient.

Alive, tired, too much homework, there was some KBBQ, went to a wedding that was retro sci-fi themed (I went as "Intergalactic Space Vixen 1962"), my ex isn't speaking to me for reasons uncertain, lots of tea, in an eating lots of lentils craze.

Also, my cat is now addicted to watching cat videos on YouTube. He likes this one best:

Where you been lately man?

Work has been really busy lately. It's been occupying my time almost completely. AND now when I do get to long into vj it's usually to do not fun stuff

But on a positive note, i broke out of my 5k run rut tonight and knocked out a 5 miler at a good pace. Even turned out negative splits. (Last mile wasn't slowest). Boo ya. Good weather for it down here in ky. I'm sure you northern folks are already shoveling snow ;)

I'm moving to China in February.

Discuss.

i should know when CNY is, but if yer moving in it, during it, or at the edge of it - be prepared for nasty snags and snarls .

China is big place, most places have snow during February. with the pollution, the snow gets brown and black ..

Good on ya for moving - I had thought about it, long and hard, these prior 5 years, but am so glad I did not.

Harpa told me she was done with VJ about a month ago. Haven't seen her since. I tried to pm her but her inbox is full.

Harpa is gone? Man, I went away from VJ for 2 months and everything is weird!

CNY is February 19th. We have participated in Chunyun 5 out of the past 6 years and this year we decided to head out two weeks early since we will both be unemployed. It wasn't always that bad until 2011 when they applied the "Real name and ID" rule for train tickets, and the train tickets sold out within hours of going on sale. The problem with going early is we get to stay with the MIL for 9 extra days.

I'm applying for a Q-1 visa which seems to be a bit elusive in some cases.

Anyone looking for a house in Central NC????? Give ya a good VJ discount!

Are you attending Rice? What courses? Is wifey shacking up in the rv wit you?

What spurred that on?

Looks like you had a blast Maven. You certainly made your way around NE. Did you end up eating in the North End?

Yeah being a mod sucks. I used to be a mod and an Admin on two other boards that are now defunct, I'd much rather just be a nobody poster, much more fun that way. I'm pulling the snowblower out this weekend to make sure it's ready to go when the snow flies. We just had our first Nor'easter of the season, luckily it's still Oct and it was all rain. We've been getting dumped on for 3 days now. I was looking at some lakefront properties in Kentucky on-line the other day as a possible retirement home for wifey and I.

Harpa is gone? Man, I went away from VJ for 2 months and everything is weird!

It looks that way. It always sux to lose good folks. She was a major contributor here. Hopefully she'll find her way back.
