Maves, if you do go to the North End (little Italy) and the Paul Revere House, be sure to eat at Strega's right around the corner. Best Italian food around.

Noted -- and thank you! I haven't been to Boston since 2007, unless you count the time I thought it would be a good idea to drive a route back to CT from Maine that involved driving through Boston...

Strega's looks great! And since neither Mr U nor I pack heat (I am a tree-hugging librul who likes little animals and Mr U, though he has owned guns in the past, sees them as more of a responsibility than he wants to handle) we will probably go for places where we don't need Kevlar tuxedos. Thanks, T!

No problem Maven. If there's anything else I can help you with, just let me know.

Strega is a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. There are a bunch of good Italian restaurants right there near the Paul Revere House, so you really can't go wrong. If you're lookin for something a little less expensive and low key, a few blocks away is Pizzeria Regina on Thacher St, it's always a good time.

Mmmmm, lobstah rolls, done proper in a split-top bun. I am partial to the CT style though, no mayo, just plenty of butter. I'm going to glut myself on lobstah, clam strips, scrod (scrod! not available out here), crabcakes, stuffed clams (those overly bready ones they sell in Stop & Shop -- my parents always had a tray in the fridge), real pizza, birch beer and every variety of New England comestible possible. I'm bringing a mostly empty suitcase with me to bring back the not-so-perishable stuff.

Edit: I can't stop looking at that roll. It's magical.

Legal Seafood has a really good lobstah roll, they are everywhere here now. I like them with butter, but prefer mayo and chopped celery. I'm not sure where you're staying in Maine, but the Maine Diner on Rte. 1 in Wells has awesome lobstah rolls and just how you like, with the drawn butter. And the seafood chowdah is the bomb!

I want about 6 of those rolls right now!

ETA: Scrod, the oceans equivalent to mystery meat.

On my way to work this morning I was stopped in traffic behind a car that had a bumper sticker that read "watch out for the idiot behind me". <_<

Funniest one I saw was in small-ish writing, on the licence plate holder of a Honda CBR900RR Fireblade, which read. " if you can read this, you're faster than you look".

I hope everyone's doing ok. I've been murdered at work lately and it looks like its getting worse. Plus I'm not allowed to have fun on here anymore  I haven't heard from Harpa in a while hopes she's still around.

Harpa is missing in action! Upper forums are quite dead too.

Hey rumpswabs! I am off on vacation tonight. :D Can't wait to get back to the motherland, and feel rain on me for the first time in... sweet jesus, I can barely remember the last time I saw rain. There was a 30 minute microburst a couple of months ago, and some spots of rain back in March, but I think the last time I actually saw rain -- real rain -- was in December 2013 in Memphis. :(

Also, I will be eating all the lobster. Stoked!
