That sucks, Teddy. :( I've had more than my fair share of things go missing. Once it was a package from my mom, which was supposedly being held for me at my local post office. When I showed up with the ticket, they couldn't find it. They looked for a week and it never showed up, so my mom filed a claim with Amazon for non-delivery. Amazon refunded her money promptly. About two months later, I got a call from the post office -- would I like to come over and pick up my Amazon package? So I got my present and my mom got her money.

In other news, I can announce that Mr U and I have decided to take the plunge and move in together sooner rather than later. Since he's going to be laid off soon (his company was bought by AT&T and is being wound down), homebuying is off the table, but we've come to the conclusion that, well, we finally want to drive each other bananas all the time, not just on weekends. :) I'm excited but a little sad to be leaving my epic bachelorette days behind, along with my awesome roommate. But it's time now for a new chapter. :D

Thanks Maven and congratulations.

I think for kix you should have Mr. U pretend he is a Ukrainian national and make him file for a K-1 visa before you sign the lease. :P

Just got a call from Karen at my local post office. She says that the letter containing the gc has been found and delivered to our house. I certainly hope so. I will say this, even though the USPS screwed up, Karen was great in helping me out today. So thanks Karen, whoever you are!

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

So I get a text from USCIS saying my wife's greencard was delivered at 11am yesterday morning, also says the same on the USPS website. We get home last night after work and no greencard in the mailbox. I call my local post office this morning to get some info and the woman tells me that our normal mail carrier was not working yesterday, and it looks like the envelope may have been delivered to the wrong address. Now the hunt is on to find out exactly where it was delivered.

Way to go USPS!

wait - dontcha get tracking with usps also on a ROC'd 10 year card? I know the first card has tracking on it - sent out 2 day priority with tracking.

----

later on I read about the postmistress finding it - way to go, Teddy - to slam on them federal workers !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Today was just a kick-### and take names kind of day.

Why can't Clients stick to their own schedules? Especially when all I have to work with are a disjointed bunch of monkeys located in various far-flung places in the continental USA. :(

Don't interrupt me when I'm talking to myself

Yes they had tracking on the gc. It showed as being delivered to our address on the USPS website, but it was delivered somewhere else by mistake. I'm not sure where it was delivered or how they found it, but the card was in our mailbox when we got home yesterday.

The key in finding the card so quickly was calling my local post office rather than the 800 number.

Yay!

It can be tricky to find the phone number to one's local Post Office, but having it can be quite worth it.

You can imagine my surprise when it popped right up on a search. I thought for sure no one would pick up, but she did, on the second ring to boot.

You certainly caught her unaware, unable to adopt the "I work for the Government and refuse to help you" standard before you charmed her into compliance.

They've probably got a high level request in with Google to get that number off their search engine.

That was and is their top priority. The USPS would be a wonderful business if it weren't for the irritating PEOPLE with whom they must reluctantly deal.
