Does that monkey happen to drive a cab?

The 99 is bomb! For $10 you get a huge burger with all the fixins and fries. I like the "All American", it has bacon!! Do you have a Fuddruckers near you? They're pretty good too.

No Fuddruckers out here in suburbia.

I miss everyone. I am too busy to have a wee in anyone's breakfast choice these days.

Happy birthday, Calypso! Early June babies are the best! :D (My big day is Thursday everyone -- I like Amazon vouchers.)

I have also been in the doghouse with Mr U. :( It was his birthday last Wednesday, and a bunch of us went out on Tuesday night to the Sizzlah and then across the street for some bowling. Note: Sizzlah chosen mainly for proximity to bowling, but also because it was on Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown:

Anyway, I had asked Mr U if he wanted to do something on the big day itself, and he said naw, we just had a party, you do whatever you want. So I went to visit the former Mr Maven and his new young hottie at their new house in the Valley... which in retrospect was a totally tone deaf thing to do. As Mr U said, "How would you feel if I went and hung out with my ex-girlfriend on your birthday?" Damn. It was a thoughtless thing to do, but there was no malice behind it. Mr U was hurt though, and I don't blame him. :( I am happy to report I am now out of the doghouse, and Mr U is cooking me dinner for my birthday on Thursday. :D And Sunday is our third anniversary -- we're thinking about going to the Pacific Dining Car to celebrate our birthaversary (two birthdays + anniversary in an 11 day period = birthaversary).

Bourdain is pretty much my hero.

I used to go to Fuddruckers and stare at the carcasses they had hanging. Were those real?

I don't remember ever seeing carcasses at Fuddruckers. Which one and how long ago?

Their goal of course is to insult or belittle other's point of view which would be more difficult if what they are doing was universally recognized by both sides and condemned.

I remember being active about 'that' for a while...

I found this about the carcasses at Fuddruckers on a Vegan website no less, it appears they removed at least as far back as 2007. Some angry folks on this site.

ETA: I think they have stopped displaying hanging cow carcasses now too. At least all my locals Fuddruckers have. Previously they had 5-8 dead cows hanging from hooks in a 'butchering room' up front. You could watch them cut up the cows inside while eating, and even see the hanging corpses from the street. Lovely, eh?

The one near me had a whole butcher section behind glass with hanging cow carcasses. People seemed to be working back there, cutting and stuff, but I was suspicious that the ones nearest to the glass were plastic. This was about.... 20 years ago? When I was a kid. Pretty sure it's still the same, though.

Fuddruckers was considered a little fancy because they had a duck pond.

Edit: It's possible the carcasses have been removed. I haven't been in that Fuddruckers since I was a kid (maybe teenager), but I was there last summer and it's still there, with the duck pond and same old sign.

The one near me, which is the only one I've ever been to, never had the butcher shop. I can't say either way whether it had the carcasses, but from the sound of it, they pretty much all had them, I just don't remember them. Our Fuddruckers is low budget, no duck ponds for us. You be stylin!

Restaurant secret: Make a duck pond.

It has been spoken.

That is the only one I had been to too. I often expounded in my mind about the name of the place and its similarity to the F word. I think that seed was planted by my dad. He probably called it f*ckrudders, knowing him.

I'm guessing if you're sort of well known for having a god complex and you post as if you think you're god, then people might think that it was your god complex showing, right?

Or that it may just be The God himself that's actually posting. One can never be too sure.
