In my opinion using a Bachelor's degree as an indication of someone's intelligence; or lack thereof, is dumb.

exactly. Isn't funny how Liberals will jump all over that Then they realize many of the states mentioned have high Minority populations

Then it's aa big face palm and it becomes all about equal opportunities to succeed through no fault of their own

Hey, this is the article talking, not me.

However, I do find your opinion curious being that many people talk down about other races of people for not having a college education but you are stating that a college education does not necessarily indicate a level of intelligence.

Just saying.

I have my Bachelor's in math and my brother never went to college.

But if I have car trouble, I call him for help.

Who's the smart one?

Easten KY will drag any state down to their level.

Oh we all knew KY would be in there. Interesting note, the "Gatton Academy" is located here in Bowling Green and is one of the highest if not the highest ranked high schools in the US.

Of course that is nothing more than a slam piece against Southern states. The term dumb is subjective and demeaning

As a student of advanced Grammar. I find it amusing the people who wrote this article called the smartest state " the most smart" kind of telling

Advanced grammar? hmmmmm I will give you this one since you pointed out the obvious mistake they made.

I'm aware you didn't write the article I was simply commenting on the premise of judging a smart vs. dumb by a bachelors degree.

Also I don't see the connection to a college education and someone's race are you confusing me with someone else? Why would you find my opinion curious based on what many other people do?

I know this. I was just saying it so people will not equate my posting of the article to my personal ideology.

This comment was not necessarily for you. You are actually the first person I have EVER heard say this. I thought it interesting being that I have always heard the opposite. This is the only way my comment should be taken. Nothing more and definitely nothing personal against your comment.

The people in these states who do really well don't move anywhere.

It's people like me, who are nearing 40 but have been treading a career plateau for years who want out.

Because even in the smart states, there are average to below-average folk like me.

No my family were originally from that area (and West Virginia) and I have traveled through often that area. That area of the country drags the whole country down.

That's what us western folks tell ourselves.
