Hi,

I have been selected in the DV2015 lottery with a case number of 2015EU00033xxx so I am hopeful of an interview around next June/July based on this year's figures. My issue is - my passport will expire early next year and I am unsure if there will be a problem if I put the details of my current passport in form DS 230 now when I would have a new passport with new details by the time of interview next year. Should I renew my passport now before filling out the DS 230? My current passport has details of a previous visa I held for the US so I don't want to return it to get a new one and then find I needed it to prove the details of that past visa for form DS 260. Would really appreciate any guidance! Thanks!

It will not be a problem to take a new passport to an interview in London. It happens. no issues. I am not familiar with the diversity process timeline so can't suggest WHEN to renew. If you are worried about needing info from the passport you have to send off, then photocopy it. You will get the old passport back after they process the new one and can take both to your interview
